The whole amount upfront. What a greedy twat. If he stayed he would get it over the course of a season so why does he need it all up front now his contract is terminated? Should be more than happy with installments.

Nobody can ever make sense of how that man thinks. I'd say we would have agreed to pay a large portion up front and be done with each other and he took it. With registration windows in England (possibly other European leagues too) shut he only really has a juicy pay cheque in the Arab countries available to him doesn't he?

I think FA can still be signed? I know Nolan and others are still looking for clubs in England.

Important news overnight:

-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho launched into foul-mouthed rant at Roberto Martinez in Everton tunnel;

-Stevie G explains in his book that he was left with a cut on his penis after a coming together with a Bournemouth player in last season’s FA Cup;

-Liverpool fan sets up Go Fund Me page in bid to raise the €10m required to sack Brendan Rodgers.

It's one of those really difficult positions to manage, because you do need depth in keepers - maybe even a third decent keeper - but it can be hard to manage their expectations.
Especially for sides who don't have a cup comp like they Europa League to keep the #2 relatively match fresh

FA can be signed in England until November or something I think.

Also read on the weekend Spurs tried to sign Gerrard and turned them down because he doesn't want to play against Liverpool.
Pretty sure Premier League squad lists had to be submitted the day after the window closed

Steve Harper, who was with us until relegation, is one of those blokes who has been a second keeper basically his entire career, and is invaluable because of it. Great keeper, great back up, and content to play the team role.

We got 2 and a half decent/good seasons out of him for 5m without ever having to pay over 100k a week. Problem with him is he is like a bad smell that you can't get rid of when things aren't going 100% his way. Good to see Poch has been backed in shunting him unlike AVB was

Fat and lazy though wasn't he?

Also did not succeed at international level IIRC.

Though he could definitely play.
They briefly discussed that. Said he was happy to work hard in games and at training with the ball at his feet, but wasnt much for running off the ball.

I guess you could call it laziness but in those days forwards werent really expected to do as much both ways.

See Gerrard admit that the club tasked him with tapping up players.

Naughty, naughty.

Is it tapping up? Pretty sure we (along with Spurs and Chelsea) had a bid accepted by Shakhtar for Willian and were already discussing terms with his agent. I'd imagine we were one of a number of sides who asked Bayern about Kroos when he came up for sale, but there was obviously only one club he was going to end up at.

DDG earned the nickname 'Agent Dave' after his very public wooing of the likes of Thiago, Mata, and Isco, I think Mata actually said DDG played a big part in convincing him to make the move.

I would say so. Don't think you ever reached a deal with Bayern for Kroos, and the Willian one sounds like the very early stages (not sure you ever reached the point where you had permission to approach him directly).

Not that I think it doesnt happen elsewhere.

Clubs nowadays tend to know exactly where a player stands before they get into formal negotiations.

Just don't tend to publicise it.

1 out of 3. Better hitrate than woody. ;)
