Commentators have been banging on about it using that term loosely for ages with Rooney. He is a good English player but nowhere near legend status like some want us to believe he is
Just like commentators have been banging on about how brave essendon were this year. They are nufties.

Never mind Adebayor, Lamela is also 79? The heck?

Also, I just say Kabol is 79?! Gradel too? So what does that... oh dear god.

Soo... for the 2nd year running, it seems that we're the worst team in the Premier League, again. Derby and Boro might actually be ranked ahead of us.

Actually, according to our FIFA guy, we might actually be a 3.5 team, but the three promoted teams are all 4 stars, along with Brom, Villa, and Sunderland... Newcastle are 4.5?! Wow,, we are the worst by half a star, a league of our own.

I don't do FUT or anything online, but I bet there are some people happy that we're a beastly 3.5 star team, although it is telling those that just look at the stats that we're crap. (Vardy is the 4th worst striker in the Prem? He doesn't even have 90 pace? Richie is rated better than Mahrez?) Overalls don't matter... but it certainly looks ugly... sigh.
We always get shafted with Fifa.

Although, having just gone through it closer - it's laughable haha.

Mahrez 73? Alrighty then. Ulloa scores 12 goals last season in the PL and get's a 73.

Can't believe Benny is that high either.

Goals don't matter for a striker apparently...

I know, right? Then you have some absolute worldlies like Cattermole 77 and Kabol 79. You can make a fully gold starting XI out of Sunderland and Watford (Deeney is probably the only gold striker they should have, he. The rest? Nah.)

In regards to Mahrez, he also has 4 star skills. I thought fair enough, and then I took a list of the 5 star listers: https://www.easports.com/fifa/news/2015/fifa-16-ratings-five-star-skillers Yeah, I think he should go based on that list.

On a positive side, our CBs are tank, their strength stats all above 90+. At least we're a very fast team, and as you said, we get Dyer as well.

I do wonder what Schlupp would be in the game, he's been a very hard one to predict in terms of his level. I think we should also see Dodoo, Harry, and Chiwell as our youth options, Choudhary has made the list.

That was the funniest one! You know the guy that lasted a whole 30 mins before being substituted in the first game of the season haha.

Might make a new Fifa thread actually, it would garner enough interest.

I am not sure why people are so riled up over FIFA ratings.

The algorithm used to determine their overall rating is based on key stats for their position.
They're riled up because the key stats are so wrong. Kaboul has been a 79 CB for years yet has become more and more of a dud the last 3 years

Has anyone compared PES rankings to FIFA rankings? Would be interesting to see if there was much if a difference.

Because we disagree with what rating those key stats have for certain players.

You know you can edit the stats right?

The other alternative is, if you don't like it, don't play it.

They're never going to get it right. It's better to just accept this than to think they're going to nail it.

I think it's a good idea. I know we have a Games forum, but I just feel it would help more if we have an FM 15/16 and maybe a general games topic as well, (either that or combined all into a Soccer Games topic) just to garner more views then the forum up there.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't there one in the video games topic?

To experienced players that understand the value of individual stats, ratings don't mean that much (even then, the algorithm used does seem a bit flawed, and are still wrong, Vardy 89 pace? Ings is faster?! What.) but those unfamiliar, and use only the rating, well, it gives them an idea based on a figure.

I mean, in Australia, why is Messi and Ronaldo so popular amongst the kids? Because they are the best players in the game. These kids would've have never actually seen a live game before, they go on the perceived values based on FIFA. While we know it's true, that's what most gamers go on for most players unfamiliar to them. After all, the experts did the work in rating all of them, so they can't be wrong, right?

For FIFA 16, I believe we're the only 3.5 star team in the PL, while the rest are at least 4 stars. That's not exactly a good look. Like it or not, FIFA is a very powerful marketing tool, it forms the absolute base of knowledge about the world of football. As things stand, people think Cattermole is better than Mahrez or Cameron Jermone is better than Vardy. I'm not even joking, I have had fans of big clubs (who watch only their games) actually dismiss us on FIFA ratings.

While the stats can be edited, they revert back to their original stats for FUT and Career mode (Tournament and Exhibition games are fine though), meaning you're forever stuck with a Vardy that is slower than Ings, and will never be as good as Cameron Jermone.

Edit it? Why would I want to do their job?

I don't expect them to get it perfect but when you've somehow ended up with Lee Cattermole with those stats... well something isn't quite right.

Would be a good idea having the soccer games on this board

Anyone watching France vs Serbia? Matuidi just scored a volley from 20 yards that was still rising when it hit the net.

France looking very good.
Absolutely cracking strike.
