So it was an I told you so.

Still not sure the "presumption" was a sound one. That doesnt he is immune from injury. Just that you don't buy an extea player to cover any absences.

Lots of clubs would be more than happy with options like Bony, Kelechi, Sterling, Silva, Nasri. So not really sure what the problem is.

Just got my tickets confirmed for Liverpool vs Man United and Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid next year.

Hello delicious football, goodbye bank savings.

You going to the Arsenal game on Jan 13? PM me if you can get tickets for that.

Still looking for tickets atm (don't want to go down the thomascook route twice haha). Got a contact who is trying to get some for me but I'll definitely be in Liverpool then. More than happy to catch up for a beer!

Sounds good. Everyone I know with a membership is going so I need tickets elsewhere lol. Might sign up to the MLSA to get tickets.

So you haven't got yours yet?

I'm a MLSA member so will be trying to get tickets through that too. But ideally I want to go in the Kop.

You don't do it for all players, but when you're talking about players who are injured as consistently as Sturridge & Aguero and the degenerative nature of those types of recurring soft tissue injuries, I think it was and remains a pretty fair assumption to make - that you work on the basis that they're going to be unavailable for periods during the season and plan to be successful without them.

As attacking midfielders? Absolutely. At centre forward? Not for me. 1 player on that list has shown he can score 10+ goals in a season, for the rest it's a gamble isn't it? I don't think you can take gambles like that and expect to be successful in the EPL or the CL because the competition is so strong. It'd be like saying lots of clubs would be happy with Kompany, Mangala, Otamendi and Demichelis as their options in centre midfield. They can chip in and do a job there if required, but it's not ideal if you're chasing the biggest prizes.

All I'm saying is that given the frequency with which Aguero finds himself on the sidelines, I think it would have been sensible to mitigate that risk by signing 1 more recognised goalscorer to help Bony out during Aguero's inevitable absences. I know you did quite well without him last season but for me, if it were my club and I had expectations of winning the league and/or the champions league, I wouldn't be comfortable with the current situation. You obviously are - fair enough, I guess we'll have to wait and see how this plays out.

2. silva scored 12 goals last season.

it once again comes back to who would we sign to be a) good enough to step up and b) be happy with only being 2nd/3rd choice for about 85% of the season. dzeko and jovetic were clearly out the door at the end of last season. names like lacazette won't come to just sit on the bench. there isn't too much we can do when we only missed him last season from a knock to his knee, and the same thing happened this season. still recovering from that, and then gets played in a high pressure game a few days later. you can't measure for stupidity like that.

i'm not worried about how we will go. sure, it could turn out to ruin our season. but we have experience from last season and we did fine. and we have better players in now to play the way we did when kun was out. obviously it's shit when your best footballer gets injured, but it happens to everyone and they get through it, so it's time for the club to do it now. we can't do anything about situations like this.

This is his first soft tissue injury for nesrly two years. His only injury last season was an impact one from a bad tackle.

As for the 4th striker, who if quality do you sign happy to be sat on the bench behind Aguero, and maybe 3rd in line behind Bony?

And if you get someone of lesser quality how does Kelechi get games/experience.

I'm more than happy with those two if Aguero misses any time. And I think we'd do fine in an emegency with the AM types playing a role.

Milner did a job for us up front last year so I think we'll be ok.

You say that players did jobs for you last season and you went ok. But you didnt win anything?

Aguero out for any length of time certainly hurts City much the same way with Studge and us. If he is out for an extended period of time, it really heats up the title race.

In that stretch Aguero was injured we won 6 and drew 1.

You want your best players playing. But we've got a bit better quality in our squad to be able to handle players missing.

As for heating up the title race, it's October. There is no title race let alone a hot one.

now silva injured

cant be ******* arsed
Of course the one bloke in the squad we do struggle to cover. Thank god for KDB if Silva does miss.

International football **** right off.

Not for the Arsenal game. Leicester game on boxing day isn't a problem. Borrowing a membership. Also probably doing Sunderland away on the 29th.

It feels odd that all these players are getting injured in the international break and not one of them plays for Arsenal *touch wood*

I'm sure Arsene will still complain about it even though it is benefiting us at the moment!
