it's because it doesnt affect the national managers. they rarely need the player the next week. martino doesnt care that kun could be out for 2 months. why would he?

it's a matter that needed to be addressed a long time ago. the clubs take the main brunt of any consequences, both on field and off. it rarely has an affect on international managers, so they'll take more risks and potentially take advantage of those too passionate to say no.

So Krul copped a season ending knee injury over the weekend playing for Netherlands and our number 2 Karl Darlow is also out with a footy injury with no return date given.

Despite that, seems we would be unlikely to get in an emergency loan despite having only our 3rd choice keeper and an 18 year old prospect hastily recalled from a loan. Lord have mercy!

Yeah exact thing happened last year (with Krul going down and then Elliot getting injured not long afterwards).

From most accounts Woodman is a promising young keeper in the making but hopefully we won't be forced to play him. Doesn't bode well for our survival chances lol.

Young GKs aren't physically equipped at 18/19. They generally look like rakes who are going to flap at things they'll be fine to collect in youth football

By all reports Valdes is still in top condition. United's position is that they are happy to get rid as long as it is not too a rival. Pool asked about him and were told to GAGF. Would think a loan to NUFC would suit all parties. Promise we'll get the paperwork done on time

don't be so defensive WC. you wanted him as backup ffs. he wasn't prepared to be a backup. Valdes thought DDG was gawn and he'd be given a crack as the no.1 at United so signed for us instead. not every transfer is a snub

i guess the positive is we could see more young players in roberts, barker, garcia etc get games, but in a run of games that include the derby, liverpool, sevilla x2 and juve it's hardly ideal. question marks over yaya and vinny with kun and silva definitely is huge to try and cover. but, not much we can do about it.
