Rodgers and Hird in the same season must have sucked ass

Well I still love Hirdy coz at least he was a great great player, Rodgers is more like Matty Knights. But yes that was a terrible sporting year ;)

EDIT: Actually that's disrespectful to Matty Knights coz he was a great Richmond player, too, so Rodgers is more like Grant THomas

does anyone else feel burnt out by football?

Absolutely.

If its not the constant injuries to key players at key moments that cost you points or the constant speculation about transfers when the January transfer window has just closed or 'Wenger out' after we drop a couple of points. There is always something that is constantly trying to bring the club down. Sure if you want to sell a player cause his injury prone or isn't good enough express that opinion but I will understand it the first time, you don't need to repeat a thousand times over. Same goes for wanting 'Wenger out' if you want him out fair enough but wait until the end of the season to express it and in the mean time get behind the team, create an atmosphere and try and get the team fighting again. This in particular pissed me off this season given we had dropped a couple of games in a row but were still sitting close enough to make a comeback but instead of our home fans trying to lift the team a few of them resorted creating a depressing atmosphere to the ground with Wenger out banners that in turn created fighting amongst fans and the whole thing was a shit fight. You just need to look at our home form for the second part of the season to see the effect it had on the players.

In fact there is a sense of entitlement that comes with us bigger clubs that in my opinion over time has clouded our judgement and made us lose track of what is important. You look at Leciester and what they achieved and the best thing about (for me) was how the fans got behind them and how the players thrived of that. There was respect between players and fans and that never wavered throughout the season, whereas I know with Arsenal theres was times where the players thrive of the fans but it tends to be for away games and the odd home game. I highly doubt Leciester were boo'ed once as left the pitch at half time but I know it happened at Arsenal games and no doubt would have happened at other bigger clubs games too. Which I find football is most enjoyable when fans are cheering and players are responding to that.

*Note, I'm not blaming fans entirely for our result and performances just merely pointing out that football is more fun to watch and be a part of when there is less bitching and more supporting whether you be winning or losing. Whilst it should be noted that fans are treated like shit given what they are required to pay to attend games and clubs need to do a lot more about fixing this issue but I still think that politics should be forgotten for the duration of the game.

The Optus debacle has just reiterated how ok I am with the off season taking it's sweet time.
Same. Now that may or may not be because my side has bounced back after a finals hiatus rather quick but I am more than happy with the break.

Knowing us, even with guaranteed CL and TV money we'll still be idle until August in the transfer market. So yeah, I'm on the beach too ;)

Just need NYM to go one better than last season and it'll all be gravy with me.

Michael Carrick played his last home game for United tonight. The FA Cup final will be his last United game. I have NFI whether he is retiring or not.
He's been liked with Perth lol

This is outstanding

He's mentioned it in recent pressers and I'm pretty sure she was with him when he took the trophy around the ground against Everton.

You think the average 40-50 year old single Leicester lass would be watching most press conferences?
At the moment I do haha.

I really hope the average 40-50 year old would be smarter than that.

At least they were that high though.

Newcastle and Richmond are both big clubs that just regularly disappoint.

It probably says a lot that even despite being knocked out of finals the first week 3 times in a row, this is a 'successful' period for most Richmond supporters.

Certainly has been more enjoyable than some of the darker years over the journey. :p

Have also seen a few rumours he might come to Newcastle in a player/coach capacity. We'll need a big cleanout of the deadwood and if we can keep Rafa (and he wants Carrick), might not be a bad fit for both parties potentially.
