Looks dodgy like his family but people give him a free pass for human growth hormones too so lol

You've got to be literally the only anti-Messi troll on the entire internet apart from Ronaldo himself.

Does anyone have any recommendations for books/videos/youtubes etc showing young kids about the game. Thinking rules, positions, tactics etc but not in too much detail.

My daughter (nearly 8) has been training with Alty Juniors for the past month or so. She's really good with the skills (dribbling, passing, tackling etc) but she's about to start playing tournaments and she doesn't have much of a clue about how games go. The club aren't too bothered about all that atm, which I don't have a problem with. But she's a bit nervous and I'd like to give her a bit of a basic idea before they start playing.

To be fair, the authorities would lose out on a fair bit of tax while Messi took a two year break from the game. Not totally fair, but it would have been a consideration I'm sure.

Can you imagine the prison football games though?

Group Stage:

- 16 groups of 4 teams organised on a regionalised basis.

- Groups to include one invited club and at least one club from each of Leagues One & Two.

I don't see why they wouldn't but I don't particularly like the idea. It's nice for the lower leagues to have a trophy only one of them can win (outside of the league of course).

Actually now I say that, I wonder how the academy teams would go compared to League1/2.

I reckon it will be tough games for the academy teams. You can have all the skill in the world but mens football is mens football.

It mentions 6 of the starting 11 from the academy clubs have to be U/21. Any idea what the other 5 can be? As in like, fringe players from the senior 11?

I would assume so, just like in the standard U21 comp.

Yeah makes sense.

Disappointing if true, would be happier with it being all academy players or all U21 or younger etc.

We've apparently got reservations but haven't committed one way or the other. Games apparently clash with youth international fixtures which could cause problems.
