On the general talk board there is a piece on the Pavlich/carr trade.
Nobody has even thought of this trade.
Adelaide would give hawthorn Angwin as they have shown interest and if we have to lose Johnson then mabe him too, that way we get rid of Angwin anyway and the hawks get a (Supposedly) good key position/ruckman with Rehn losing form and near the end and they get a very high quality midfielder and they would give Fremantle Daniel Chick who wants to come home (Im from WA and that was big talk here for a while and it seems that he does want to return and Im from where he lives and his friends and so on say he would like to play for a Wa side) and Freo need that exact type of player and then we would get pavlich.
I know crows supporters will think that we are giving up too much to get Pavlich but Angwin is gone and Johnson looks like this year was only because he couldnt get traded and then I think the deal turns out quite well.
What does everyone else think.(Also if we (Hopefully) keep Johnson then who else can we throw in in the same deal, mabe someone like Edwards, and I am a big edwards fan too but there was a rumour of him wanting to go last year, i dunno who else)

Also Carn the crows this week, we cant lose three in a row and my boss is a Tiger so I couldnt afford to lose this one, ill cop it for the rest of the year.

I would not be keen to lose either Johnson or Edward.
Do we especially need Pavlich anyway? Perhaps not if McGregor becomes an extremely food CHB.

Of course I'd love to have Pav, but do we need him at the expense of a gun midfielder.

McGregor will never amount to anything, I would gladly give Freo McGregor and Edwards for Pavlich but I don't think Freo would be stupid enough to buy that.

NO DEAL with Johnson. Wwhy would we give him up so easily? Hes been our best player.
Lets not fall into the trap of beleiving Adelaide would let him go on the basis He is prone to soft tissue injury.

Jason Hows Bekky?

Johnson was on the market last year so I'd say that is why adelcrows is using him.

If he still wants to be traded then getting Pavlich for him would be what you want.

Perhaps not if McGregor becomes an extremely food CHB.
Dogs - You sure you were not referring to Fat Red who doesn't mind the odd bite to eat & CAN play CHB unlike Kenny. ;) :D

Of course we need Pav....I'd definitely be willing to part with Johnson for Pavlich.....I wouldn't want to lose Johnson, no one appreciates him more than I do but I feel we need Matty if we're going to take the next step. Either that or one of McGregor, Rutten and Schell becomes a gun key position player :D That's my opinion anyway.

Not that I expect Schell to be a gun forward, but it is good to see him bounce back this week after not getting any game time in the Showdown. He has 5 goals for Centrals @ 3/4 time.

It is worth us trading one of our midfielders to gain Pavlich, but only if the deal is fair. We will be lucky to get a draft pick from the Hawks for Angwin. Johnson's value has gone up this year & I would only use him in a trade deal if he wishes to return home. There are other players I would prefer to trade 1st - perhaps even our captain if he doesn't start pulling his finger out.

How is Des Headland going? I believe his contract is up at the end of the year? Is he still keen to go home? Perhaps, the Lions could send Des to Freo, Pav to Adelaide and perhaps we supply players/draft picks to the Lions?

whos bekky

Who do you mean by bekky?????

Cant beleive that the dorkers beat essendon tday.

I didnt say i wanted to give up Johnson but if he WANTS to return home we may as well get something good for him!
Jason

If I was Freo I would only trade him for McLeod, and then you would have to think long and hard. This guy is developing rapidly and can play at both ends of the ground.
If I was a betting person I would say he will stay at Freo, but if he does return home Port appear to have more trade bait at this stage. However will have to be prepared to trade a big name(s) to get him.
His goal in the last quarter against Essendon was just sensational. He can play..

Nod - I'll let you on a little secret - Freo have 0.000000000000000000000000000000000% chance of getting McLeod for Pavlich, Bell or any other player for that matter. Go back to the land of sabrisms. :D :D :D :D :D

Point I was making is that Pavlich is quality and should only get better. To get him Freo will demand quality.

errr..Fremantle passed him up in the same draft Adelaide did.

Fortunately for them they finished near the bottom again and got him when he came good.

I am aware of that.

I was simply refuting Brownys comment that Fremantle deserved him because the camries passed him up.

Damn, can't even stick up for you guys sometimes ;)

Haha, I only said that because I know what some Fremantle supporters are like, and he probably didn't know all clubs missed him.

...and I thought the only deals involving Adelaide and the Lions were to get the absolute GUN, Craig McRae back to Adelaide (well, the Bays, lets be honest!).;) :D:rolleyes:

I think Pavlich would be a great for the crows as they need a key position forward as they lack goalkicking power.
Adelaide have far to many midfielders and swapping an Edwards or Johnson for a key position player such as Pavlich would be of more benefit

Must be why he is a Premiership player and an automatic selection in a team that is dominating the competition

They must carry him for a laugh.
