A woman not making all the decisions, I'm calling bullshit on this one!

I HATE moving- but hubby gets itchy feet every few years. The past two times, I've dug in and held him off for a few years (7 and 10) the past two moves but we used to move every 2-ish years before that.
His punishment is that he has to choose everything for the new house- down to the taps, door handles and curtains, etc. ;)

Mates used to play at Amplifier with their metal band. I enjoyed it.

On an aside I have been to some amazing raves there back in the 90's when Gravity was moved there when DC's shut down with the highlight being DJ Kenny Kenn and MC Fearless in 98.

They planted a gum tree in front of my house, directly under the power line headed to my house. ******* morons.

So essentially they need to come every X months to butcher the tree.

Can you get it cut down for good? Replace with a tree that gives shade, doesn't drop branches and doesn't worm its way into every irrigation system?

FESA says that a bushfire in Mundaring is under control.
Thanks UFOT :) I looked on the DFES website but found nothing. I figured it was too early or too small. This one looked closer than that- my neighbour jumped in her car and went for a drive because the smoke was quite thick in her backyard but she couldn't find a source. There were no helitacs but I could hear sirens.
I've got an emergency app and there were a few "observations" of smoke from Atwell and Ankatell. Not very helpful- cos I could see and smell it, too. Smoke has gone now, though.
Smelt too close to be Mundaring.

Then again I remember smelling smoke in Singapore when Indonesia was doing their regular burns :)

I hope what FESA posted was accurate and there is nothing in that area (since I am near Atwell). Or else it would an embarrassing "oops forgot about that one" incident.

Was gonna say I'm basically in Atwell and can't smell any smoke.

My son's near Gateways and said he can smell it now- I can't see a thing anymore though- nor smell it.
The alerts only go up on FESA if homes or lives are under threat. A small fire that they've got controlled straight away, though it might produce a bit of smoke, won't always make it onto their website.

A taxi from Byford to Kenwick (about 30mins) is apparently gonna cost me $63. Swan Taxis can go **** themselves.

It's $44 from the Casino to Kenwick.

Probably just got some new green and the locals are bonging on (I can say that because I live there) :p
Lol :D
I meant to tell UFO Tatsu that the smoke couldn't have come from the Mundering fire because the wind was blowing from the SW all afternoon.

That makes your suggestion very credible :)

KFC again for lunch it is. Had to eat and didn't have time to cook. Shameful lack of good independent take away places in my part of Canning Vale. Kinda sad that in many suburbs in Perth the market is only interested in the crap chain fast food joints.

There is a decent Chinese takeaway place in Canning Vale. Red BBQ Kitchen (190 Bannister Rd). It does a decent roast duck and decent serving sizes (the last time I had some).

I'm pretty sure you can get take away Italian food (beautiful stuff) from Casa Del Amici cnr Warton Rd and Amherst Rd.

It's open Wed-Sunday for lunch, 12.00-3.30pm, and there's a takeaway menu here:
http://www.casadelamici.com.au/menu-take-away/
(click on the tabs for pasta, pizza, etc.)

Not sure if the prices are outside your budget but thought I'd mention it. The food is delicious. Probably $2-3 more per pasta/pizza dish than the takeaway place in Leeming, which also has delicious food. Might be good just for an occasional change to your takeaway diet :)

I'll count that.

Nearly 20,000 posts in under a year. 0 infractions. Long may it continue.
I've had a couple of close calls but managed to wiggle out of them because the infractions weren't warranted :)
Now I know you're so upset with me 'watching' this thread, I'll click 'unwatch' and check back in a few days unless someone's directly talking to me
