In a really, really, really, really terrible display for 98% of our players at least Philthy has stood up and played well in his first game. Looked really comfortable and had some really nice moments. Only 1 direct turn over from what I can remember and it wasn't really his fault as no one else was moving around him.

Anyway we suck, Phil was good.

If he could put on some more strength, he will be a beauty! Only positive from the game

Also you can tell he's an extremely smart and he has been critisised from people on here for appearing slow. Looked far from the slowest of our players today, not that any of them looked fast at all. Damn plodders!

looks pretty good the kid...good first up dispaly on a dark day for the club....should hold his spot hopefully

Phil Davis was the first Crows player to have an effective kick today.
decent debut; looked to fit right in. obviously still a skinny kid, but looks alright...and with Bock out for a few weeks, Davis has the opportunity for more AFL experience.

Thought he did well today. Bring on another debutant on Friday <3 Crows may suck atm, but I can't shake that happy feeling when I see young players get a chance and play well.

Body is 2 years off still, I'm i'm still convinced he's a forward.

But I was more confident witht he ball in his hands that 90% of anyone elses.

Davis did well in his debut today, particularly in the second half.

He did look somewhat out of place though, as unlike most of his team-mates, he insisted on kicking it to a team-mate.

Good skills.

I thought he showed a bit of toe. Don't think he's as slow as everyone says. Once he gets stronger he'll be a bit quicker too.

May never be a champion, but should be a 150-200 game player at least.

That's still an enormous ask of a player :o

I wasn't actually that impressed with Davis in the first half, but I thought he came into his own in the second half. One really good thing about him is that you know he'll actually hit a target when he gets a chance to kick the ball.

He's done enough to warrant his spot next week, well done Phil :thumbsu: Schmidt and Davis have been success stories so far this season in terms of youth.

If results continue the way they look like continuing, we may have a few more youth in the side with similar opportunities to impress :o

Can absolutely see why Rendell likes this bloke. Natural, intelligent footballer. I'm sold. Couple of years in the weights room and we've got a fine key position player here.

very solid debut :thumbsu:

good skills, looks like he has time and space and makes good decisions

IMO we need to persist and keep playing him
