i respectfully disagree - rather, in some form it should. It is our brand, our identiy - it should be promoted where appropriate. Isn't that the whole idea of brands/branding/merchandise in the first place?

If we had a secondary logo to our current logo then the club could have the opportunity to create a brand but also have something that doesn't look out of place where the primary logo does.

Maybe New Era's "PA" could be our secondary logo. Port can make it their brand and make it iconic.

A bit off topic but the LA Kings revamped colour scheme is amazing.

But the Power logo is half of the reason why the merch is naff as is!!!!!!!! captern ebort pls
No it's the way it's been done.
nope.

Best example is that the New York Yankees' logo is nothing like their world famous logo that is plastered all over the world.

The only brand promotion on merch comes through value for sponsors.

Guernseys. Media polos.

In terms of everyday wear, who cares? Would the club rather sell 1000 understated hoodies or 100 hoodies with a massive Power logo on the front, because 'brand awareness'? For what purpose?

Im positive the club would rather sell 1000 understated hoodies with the power logo on it.

Brand awareness? It is so simple I'm even wasting my time there.

It's strange guys -

I want to wear port gear & support my club, I'm proud too, but then I don't want to be associated with it either..... So I'll wear this one, because the logo is completely different....

FFS.

That is an excellent example of how you can be totally true to the brand without being so in your face, or going in the wrong direction either by introducing yet another totally unrelated device/monogram.

Wattity wat.

The GSW example is genuinely the exact same scenario that I, and others have proposed in this thread.

that fat guy wearing an xxxxxl port adelaide fc generic kmart polo is really doing the port brand wonders
Everyone agrees the K Mart style clothing looks crap, but that doesn't mean it ha to be replaced by equally crap looking bland monogram stuff. The monogram looks great on a hat or on a small space like a sleeve. Anything bigger and it doesn't look anywhere nearly as good

Highlighting the KMart stuff only is a bit silly. The ISC stuff in the club looks really good
Not for those of us who aren't into looking like a billboard

Nah, no one wants just Kmart polos and hoodies with a monogram in place of the power logo.

Yeh, you bolded correct? There are good examples - shows precisely how you don't need to go down the GWS route as you & others are proposing.
No, GSW (Golden State Warriors). RED ONE 's first example.

Where did I say that? No where, so stop posting irrelevant crap

It's literally implied in this post that you think people in this thread simply want the monogram to replace the Power logo on generic merch. Otherwise what else are you rebutting?

This is too much.

IDK, go and look at the (probably) more than 50% of commercially produced t-shirt designs these days that are either completely plain, or take a very minimalist approach with a small logo on the left breast.

It's a very simple principle... Less is more.

And I'm telling you, having spoken to people at the club, if not for the licensing issue over the PA design the club would be putting the monogram on as much stuff as humanly possible.
