The "problems"

I assume that you agrees with my comments re hughes, white and bling, given you didn't qoute the any stats to disprove them?

Can't find the 92% stat you refer to( please direct me) and he must have made all his 8% of errors in one two minute passage in the the third when he kicked it 50 metres to a freo guy 40 metres on his own then straight after kicked it ( short) to a contest. They must have been his only two errors for the night!

Raines 27 disposals 93% eff 11 kicks 16 handballs 3 marks 2 clangers 6 contested possessions 20 uncontested possessions.

Out of near on 100 minutes of football you found a 2 minute passage where Raines stuffed up. If only the whole team would have 2 minute passages where they stuffed up we would be well on our way to a flag.

I love SNAG cause he provides a different point of view instead of the never ending, "Cleve will be a star" "This year is Bling's Breakout Year" "JON just needs confidence" blah, blah, blah.....All which have never been proven or backed up my hard, cold facts.

I think with Rainsey that he's showing the same intensity as when he hit the big time, it's just that his style of play brought his undoing to start with.

Don't you think other club's are just thinking and preparing with..."Same ol Rainsey"...don't worry about who he gives it to....keep at him, till he coughs it up, cause we know he's going to try to take on everyone on the ground till he either gets caught or drops from exhaustion. In the real season. Not the NAB (Rookie) Cup.

I think Snag is concerned that some one trick ponies STILL haven't learnt any new tricks over this preseason.
But that's been Richmond problem for nearly 30 years now... and it continues..
Same ol Schulz.
Same ol Hughes.
Same ol Bling.
Same ol Whitey.
Same ol Edwards
Same ol JON.
Etc, etc.
Where's the improvement?

Just also read the 'Aaron Fiona' whinge article in one of the papers.
So how are the above players any different to the promises Fiora always hinted at, with us and the Saints?
Could be, would be, should be.
I know we have depth now, but the depth is created by 'nearly' consistent AFL players.

Gees, if Jackson can amass a bucketload of possies, then that NAB game wasn't that great, because that's not the same Jackson that plays 'Home & Away' games.

So you go on about all of those players being one-trick ponies and then, when Jackson makes a noticable improvement, you dismiss this as nothing.

Also, Edwards looked good in the game.

:)Ditto again!

Say what you like about Jackson - I really haven't been a fan of his over the journey - but more games like that, he's no longer borderline or fringe, he's going top 10 in the b&f and by all means a regular.
That was a pretty impressive display Sunday night!
As for the rest ...ummmmmm ... Raines was pretty darn good too.
And as Rex Hunt would say .... "MATTY WHITE, HE'S ALRIGHT!!"

Other positives, conrats to Danog, Edwards did look the goods, Nahas looks something and I think we saw the start of what's going to be a breakthrough sesason for young jack Riewoldt!!!

I'm abandoning the old "glass half full, half empty" analogy and from now on I'll be referring to people as either "Sausage Roll or PuntRoadRoar" types.

Personally I put myself on the PRR team.

Just on Riewoldt, his lack of shoulders isn't nearly as important as the need for a strong core.

Take Tredders, his lack of shoulders didn't stop him winning 4 straight AA CHF gongs and a few best and fairests - all his strength came from his core. He wrecks his knee in the 2006 preseason, loses a lot of that strength through his core and legs and surprise surprise, his dominance fades as guys like Rutten are able to shift him about whereas before he was immovable.

Strengthwise, for a key forward it's not who you can move, it's whether others can move you.

totally agree, Jack is going to be just fine :thumbsu:

I'm glad someone saw what I did there. I admit that I sometimes have a crack at players for lack of performance, but in all seriousness its the first preseason match of the season, not even the season and we get a thread on the negative side of the team.

This isnt the same team that was running around even a few seasons ago, I think a few forget that :thumbsd:

think back to the crap spud used to dish up for us year after year. i am liking what i am seeing in 2009 a lot more than what i saw in 2004.

Reiwoldt ... He is going to be a very good player for us, I dont think he will ever be bulked up like we all hope he would but he will get bigger shoulders with each preseason, this kid has a footy brain, especially impressed by how vocal he was to team mates, took some nice marks and backed himself

Start of 3rd qtr, Brown roosts a up and under. Jack runs, past Hughes, and goes for the ball, running with the flight, and takes a pack mark. 2 things: Hughesy lack of effort, there was no excuse for him not attacking the mark, it's not like there were a dozen tiges there and best he stay front and centre. 2nd: Jacks desire to get the ball, and then the ability to take the contested mark.

I reckon Hughes needs to be dropped (again), maybe he'll get the drift one day.

If you take away that sluggish first half, then I think there was nothing but positives.

We kicked 7 goals in a row against a team that previously held all the momentum. During this period it wasnt complete domination of the midfield that won it for us, but the strength of our defence. When thursfield is back in there we will be even more difficult to score against.

We dominated possession. If we can do this but with a higher efficiency (thanks to the inclusion of cotchin and cousins) we put ourselves in winning positions in many games.

We were challenged after having an awesome run, and we responded. Although Richo had a large part of this, we really lifted all around the ground.

If this was a regular season match (ie no super goals) we would have had a comfortable win.

Thats just a few things I took from the match...

BULLSHIT snag

Dear oh dear.

All the polyannas on here is sickening. The same crew who told us to be patient with fiora dn krakouer and Ray Hall. They willl all come good with time!

If what i said is Bull sh*t, then this clown thinks that hughes tried hard, had a great second effort, isn't soft and played well?? Becasue that would be the opposite of what I said

Think about if that is what you are really saying,
