Well,
for all Year 12 QLD'ers, tommorow marks the start of the 2 day grind of the dreaded QCS test. (Our equivelent of Victoria's VCE)

Im not sure if the rest of Australia has the equivelent of this tommorow but to anyone else that is doing this...good luck!

Any former students have any advice? :)

cheers...

coxon the QCS is sorta like an intelligence test, not the actual exam that will make up your final uni enterance scores. It ranks every student in the state based on the results, and also the schools, for things like future funding etc.

The students still do end of year examinations, but unlike what I understand of the HSC, the schools up here set and run their own examinations, exam timetables etc, and then those results combined with your QCS score somehow come together to make your OP score to see what uni courses you will be able to undertake.

I suppose in someways the QCS is more like that american SAT's than the VCE/HSC.

be really creative with the essay... do something different like a diary, a series of letters or something. 99% of people write a story so they love it when you do that different crap, and definitely don't finish with "it was all just a dream".
