If a sexual assault victim is paid off, and they are happy with the arrangement, Is that a worse outcome than going through the legal system?

Right or wrong it was common practice back in those days and not just for sexual assaults. I remember talking to someone from the club when we lost Everett and he was saying that between him Nicky and Hall that we'd had to pay out heaps around that time. Suggested that they couldn't afford them off field. No suggestion that it was anything major but clubs seemed to get rid of trouble with a wad of cash.

The best "thingy whatsit" for the job...can go any definition or whatever terminology to describe said thingy whatsit...but the employer reserves the right to not give a f*CK, just as long as the job is done & the person's terminologies don't interfere with anyone else's day.

We can just do what this guy did. Apparently he was pissed off with being pulled up for his less than inclusive language so came out as trans and now they can't get rid of him. It's a head **** for us progressive types.

Yes you can, people make calls based on probability all the time. It's correct to say that males, on average, are more assertive than females. It's also correct to say that females, on average, are more empathetic than males. That doesn't mean businesses can't make mistakes during the hiring process, but people use the law of averages all the time to make the best decision that they think they can make given the available evidence infront of them.

And yes, traits like assertiveness and empathy are in fact gender dominant, like many other traits. Same goes for what men and women typically want from life. Men on average are more inclined to work longer hours and dedicate their lives to their work, whereas women on average are more focused on creating and nurturing family. There's good and bad in both, like I said before it's the market that drives the type of people the workplace is looking for. Men and women are different and that's totally okay, in fact it's needed.

Your point on your own workplace is a good one but has nothing to do with gender. You had too many of the same people with the same strengths and blindspots in your team. As soon as you bring in people, male or female, that display what you lack, the team improves. People too often get gender mixed up with personality as is the case here. Organisations work well not because of gender diversity but because of diversity of thought and a good balance of psychological traits.

My point anyway is that it's more about the types of people you're hiring as opposed to what their gender is.

Back in the old days I did a few short HR courses through the place I worked at when we had to hire new people for the team. There was some interesting stuff around how different countries rate candidates and the Aussies were the most likely to hire on "would they be good to go for a beer with" factor. People who had a good social match with a team are much more likely to get a gig here....or as back then.

Countries like Germany and Japan were much more interested in technical excellence or expertise. The people I helped hire were all good social fits. Not sure if it influenced me even more to go that way but still funny.

Still waiting on your evidence but all we’re getting is ad hominem silliness 😄

Hope your blood sugar isn’t on the fritz x
I walk 30k steps a day and eat a very good diet my blood sugar is always under control don't worry šŸ˜…

If I gave you evidence you'd just disregard it. Your brain isnt working at full capacity in a carbohydrate starved state anyway 😢

not at all if you add transgender into the mix then the ineqity is ten fold .. the bias against them is even worse so there certainly needs to be work done in society as a whole on how we become more understanding and accepting of people how ever they identify .
the thing with work environments by having more diversity in the workplace and it becoming common place it again breaks down walls in acceptance
we have such a long way to go in this area ... you just need to read the comments section on any story discussing Danni Laidley to see the ignorance that is so widely accepted

I used to work with a transgender women and she was a gun, did about 10 people's job and was so keen to be seen as a positive she made the rest of us look shit. She didn't look trans and they used to wind up young guys from other departments asking if they'd sleep with her and then suggesting that they were gay when they inevitably said yes. It was a bit of a different time.

Yeah culture/upbringing also plays a part. When we think of a typical extrovert we usually think of an American yahoo cowboy type operator, but in America extroversion/introversion is just displayed in a different way to say a Japanese or German person. Their extroverts would look like huge introverts to us.

Unfortunately some orgs are still so backwards that they base entire hiring processes on shit like going for beers (not exactly that, but still, inane shit similar to it)

Waddling through the produce section contributes about 14,000 of those steps.

I've worked with some tough bitch female operators who were ultra assertive and plenty of soft **** males. There is almost an overcompensation for a lot of women in higher roles. They feel the need to earn respect through authoritarian attitudes. In corporate retail a lot of men were overly confident with **** all to back it up. The women were generally a lot more competent and hard working. It was an era where as long as you went for a Friday piss up with the boys you'd move up the ladder through nepotism. I'm sure it's balanced out a bit by now.

You only need about 70mg a day.

Plenty of opportunity to get that from beef sources. 200g of spleen has it covered easily.

You can keep your spleens. I'd rather suck on my carrots.

*bull semen

As has been stated but your anaemic brain has forgotten, horse is what I’m often referred to in other aspects of life x

I don't read all of your posts. They are too much some days.
