There is only one earth quaking, wall shaking, heart breaking, tyre braking, heart staking, nerve breaking, history making true immortal among songs and that is Born to Run.

Oh yeah did I mention Born to Run?

Or how about Born to Run?

Jon Stewart on Bruce Springsteen at the Kennedy Centre Honours in 2009

(@RussellEbertHandball alerted me to this years ago and I watch it over and over :D)

When you listen to Bruce's music you are not a loser. You are a character in an epic poem about losers. :D

Yeah but ...

The Boss loves Patti Smith's working of the song that he gave away in 1978.

Because the Night
Springsteen is adamant it was the best decision for the song because it was unlikely to have ever been included on his 1978 project, and may have become a lost tune. He explains, "Jimmy Iovine, who was then an engineer, ...he drove me to Coney Island, and somehow he talked me into giving up the song, which I'm glad that I did because I wasn't going to finish it, and she finished it."

"It would have never seen the light of day, much less been the song that it is if it wasn't for her working on it, so thank you Patti." Springsteen performed his version of the hit on U.S. TV's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday, November 16, when he was joined by his rock pal Steve Van Zandt and the show's house band, The Roots.

If that doesn't run shivers down your spine you're not alive.
I'll let you know tonight.
Hard to say why I'm shivering atm. I've just had my 6th coffee but I'm still stuck at trying to work out if I'm awake or not. :( :D

Is it only 25 degrees in Darwin right now? ;)

PS I thought it was a bit harsh to refer to Punk Princess Patti as a mano. :p

Sometimes I forget how old you all are.

Patti Smith >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Beatles.
Pres, you are starting to push my buttons:D .
Anyway Van Morrison >>>> Anyone and everyone.

When you go on a date, you put on a shirt, then you ride your bike to the date.

She was good, but would she qualify as a one hit wonder? Well wrt the popular charts that is.

Going by charts it is a true but cruelly inaccurate label of Patti Smith's influence on music. Patti has massive musical cred and status. A pioneer of punk music back in the day and she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

I don't hate the Beatles VP I just think mainstream music lovers are a little "over zealous" in their love for them.

Yet here we are talking about them after almost 50 years after they started - must say something. At thre risk of being assassinated by the anti-mainstream fanbois, I'm not sure that some of the groups mentioned earlier in this thread will be remembered in 50 weeks , let alone years.

Anyway, the groups of the 60 & 70s wrote/stole all of the 4 chord rock songs and there just aint any left for youse young guys.:D
