So, my fiance and I had our engagement party on the weekend. As luck would have it, the only time we could get this venue happened to fall on my 30th birthday.
So the whole time in the lead up I was bugging her about making me a Port cake, which she kept on refusing (saying it would be tacky etc). However, I kept up the nagging. I was only half serious, I just loved the banter.
But come the night, I walk into the room (this was a pretty flash joint too), and the whole place was decked out in Port coloured balloons. The cake wasn't there yet, so I just figured this was her one little nod to my love of the Power (which I would have been more than happy with).
Not long afterwards, her mother walks in with the cake. I go have a look, and to my amazement she had done it. Was amazed at how good it looked. Took her and her mum a good 5 hours or so making it, apparently the kitchen was covered in black food colouring. The picture doesn't really do it justice at all. Was fairly big as well, nearly 50cm tall. Was awesome too, I live over in Victoria, so it was great being the only Power supporter (besides my brother who made the trip over) among about 120 people in a room decked out in Port colours! I made sure I mentioned Port a few times in the speeches
Only downside is the number!! Wish I had turned 32.

So I'm at uni and the fire alarm goes off. Most of the time I'm ok with this, they have to do drills... but it's currently pissing down with rain. Not realising the weather today, I chose to wear shorts and a t-shirt. The evacuation point is in the middle of a basketball court, again, in the pouring rain.
After 15 minutes it's revealed that some dickhead let off a fire extinguisher and triggered the fire alarm. When I find the ****er that id this...
Also of note, the emergency exit has a scanner you have to swipe your student card over to get in and out of the door. It's a great idea until there's a fire and I don't have my student card on me.
