Back in the spirit of the thread.....

Why do people stick their noses in their armpits when they pretend to be an elephant?

Elephants trunks aren't in their armpits.

I'm confused.

You're missing the most pressing issue here, were there Apricot Slices?????

There couldn't have been otherwise old Mabel could have offered Sando some tactical advise :thumbsu:

The rule is caused by people running in recklessly head first to draw cheap free kicks. It's there to stop the car crash ACL's, broken legs, and knee cap/joint dislocations caused from people diving on the ball in an attempt to cause a free kick for themselves.

No matter how soft the free kick may look, it's to keep our players on the park.

You're taught to go in to protect your body and keep your feet, by turning your body and using your hips. Not dive on the ball to get a cheap weak free-kick.

"Keep your feet. Stay alive in the contest" - Ken Hinkley.

I agree with the reasoning behind the rule, and the "keep your feet" mantra is one that I've played with my whole life, but I can see it causing problems.

Definitely ban the long kamikazee slides (and I never liked frees paid to those) but I dont like those in close ones, especially when wet. Not sure if the new rule is a flat out ban or a judgement call.

Going to have to get used to it I guess. And hope that nobody plays for frees the other way. Will be interesting when one goes against us one day.

$10 for an apricot slice and a coffee. Going to take a hit out of the ol pension.

It's all Ports fault.

hi guys, can one of you's help me out with something :)

I'm of the belief that Kane Cornes has never been a full time tagger, he's obviously played much of his career in that role but there was a time when he became an excellent midfielder in his own right, is that correct?

Or has he been a full time tagger like a Cameron Ling, Brett Kirk and Clinton Jones for example?

Kane Cornes sells butter.

And sometimes he plays footballing.

He always says smell the cheese and then punches you on the nose.

I hate his dad.

Hope this helps.

Can i write for The Advertiser please?

Port Adelaide puts Australian jobs at risk

THE Port Adelaide Football club has compromised the future of Australian manufacturing with its new sponsor, Renault.

Australian manufacturing is under attack from imported overseas products and the proud Adelaide Football Club sponsor; Toyota who has been manufacturing its iconic Camry here in Australia and is proud to be providing employment to Australian families.

It has raised concerns in the community as to how Port Power has allowed an international car maker that comes from a country that once conducted nuclear tests in our waters to sponsor their embattled club.

“They (Port Power) should be doing all they can to help keep Australians in secure jobs” said Joyce MacLean, 86 of Toorak Gardens. “The real Port Adelaide, the Magpies were proud to be the working man’s club. Now the AFL club that that was named after them is shunning those Aussie battlers” explained John Tyler, 78 of Unley.

Travis Cornes, captain of the cash-strapped Port Adelaide was forced to speak out against the criticism “We had no choice, no one would sponsor us so we had to import a sponsor” he said. When the Advertiser asked more questions he backed down and retreated from the battle.

Just like how the French military would.

At his peak in 2005-2007, Kane could totally shut an elite opponent out of the game, and hurt him going the other way with his elite running. At the time his handballing was elite (IMO) and his kicking did the job. He did win 2 AA guernseys, a pure tagger doesn't get that.

Unfortunately Choco decided that his attacking side could be a weapon and used him in the seagull role. When he was taking kicks that other players should have been taking, and trying to be too creative with his kicking rather than kicking within himself, his kicking was exposed as being very average. Then teams became more eager to let him get the ball because they knew he wasn't damaging.

In his elite AA years he disposed of the ball within his abilities and wasn't asked to do any more of that, and his tagging and running made him elite. When he dropped away it's because he was either asked or decided to get a bit fancy with his ball demanding and disposal.

With that beard and hair style when Mitchell Johnson does his "fast bowler death glare" he does actually look like a creepy serial killer type person.

He looks nothing like me!

Plenty of crowies venting about the price of food and drink at AAMI this morning, time to bust out the hip flask me thinks

The fans wouldn't be venting if they knew the money was going to such a good cause - the Leigh Whicker retirement fund.

So after last nights game I took one of my bar stools outside and sat in the driveway, lit a cigar, put on 5AA and giggled as all the crowies waked past.

I hope you had some nice calming, soothing music in the background.... ;)

No.

You said Port Adelaide.

Also The Advertiser would have thought that Renault is an Italian and linked them to the Italian Army, the masters of retreat and surrender in WWII.
