I'm trying to line up my first wedding filming gig that isn't for a mate (ie, not for free)

How much should I charge to film ceremony and reception, edit, and make a DVD?

Well I was thinking $350 as that will get me a decent tripod.

I turned down payment for the last job I did, as, ya know, good mates and I didn't get a wedding gift. Later found out they paid the photographer 7 thousand!

If there is one thing people overpay for in hilarious amounts, it's weddings. You are in the right gig, take them for all they are ****ing worth.

I think what Jarryd Hayne is doing at the moment is rad and I'm not even gonna begin to get salty over the fact the Aussie sports media are banging on about it. Even the bigger US based sports reporters are starting to get hyped. He's an Aussie copping too much attention though so he needs to be brought down a peg or two, am I wrong?

I'm just over it, largely because I've always detested undue hype over performance (see Jonathan Brown, Patrick Dangerfield, Cyril Rioli).

That dickhead who compared his exploits to Bradman after one preseason game caused my head to explode.

If he does make it and does well that's great, but right now it feels like ESPN's boner for Tebow.

It's a pretty big story though. It genuinely is.

The Bradman comparison isn't quite there, but he was genuinely the consensus best rugby league player in the world when he left. It would be like Fyfe or Ablett going now.

He wasn't going to make the 53 a couple of weeks ago and he's put in 2 very good performances to pretty much lock him into a roster spot. On <12 months training. What happens when he's 2 or 3 years into the system? It's very exciting for a team without a whole heap to be excited about.
