I'd give more of a **** about the dragons if they actually did something, or if Danerys had any sort of control over them.
I thought by now we would have seen her conquer cities in Westoros with them.
To be fair, she has almost conquered a whole continent already. Give a girl a chance!

Of course it is, half of the 'realistic' plots are straight from the history books. They even have 'northern' accents in the north and the redheaded wildlings are obviously Scots.

I'd say they are more the Irish, we are most likely the Vale and I know it doesn't fit east/west but it isn't a cookie cutter copy, when you add in geography and the war of the roses narrative, it makes sense.

The actors that play the baddies Alliser Thorne, Ramsey Bolton, Hardhome and the High Sparrow are Welsh mind (though that has little do with your question).
