I may not be big into electro-pop like MGMT and Empire of the Sun, but I can tolerate it, whereas there's absolutely no chance of me leaving the station on if they start playing Opeth or Cannibal Corpse - I simply can't tolerate it.

Yeah but there's also more accessible metal than Opeth or Cannibal Corpse. I think the occasional Slayer or Pantera song wouldn't piss too many people off. He's not saying that they have to play death metal or black metal, but I'm sure they could be playing more metal than they do. They used to get Andrew Haug on in the morning show of whatever day his metal show was on, and he would get to play a metal song of his selection. He always played something that was listenable to the average audience member. I loved it, I like metal but I would never listen to a whole show of it.
