Re: Rookie Draft -some questions

After listening Reidy the other day I am just about certain that Griffin will stay on the list. Its a good thing but it has me worried that we might look to delist Gibson. I know the kid couldn't string 3 games together without getting injured but I still think he would be worth persisting with. I get the feeling that he could be the one to go especially since Craig has stated that we are after talls this draft.

Listening to Reidy, I think we can take it as a given that Griffin is staying Stiffy. :thumbsu:

I can't see why we would delist Gibson, who age wise is really only at the stage where the average draftee is at the end of his first year.

Not unless they've made their minds up that he will never make it, and I doubt that.

Re: Rookie Draft -some questions

It will be interesting to what Craigy does here. I can't remember there ever being more pressure on the coach to delist 4-5 players because some of them will be somewhat stiff.

I wonder if Craig will give Ben Hart his marching orders of will he show the door to the project players like Gibson and Jericho ;)

No argument Stiffy. He'll never keep everyone happy.

My list is

Clarke (retired)

Hart (retired) - I really think he should

Skipworth - (trade)

Jericho (trade or delist)

Hinge is the only other name I can think of that might be added to that list.

Craig has to stand up and be counted by making the right tough decisions - I'm sure he will.

Re: Rookie Draft -some questions

A think a lot will depend on what happens trade week.

Griffin will stay and so he should. Even if Clarke and Biggie were still around I'd probably argue for him to stay.

I'd have Hinge as a certainty for delisting.

I was impressed with Rhys Archard the other day.

What do others think of this boy - and are there any details about him.

He might be able to slip straight into AFL football from what I have seen.

From left field can I throw some names at you of players who have shown me something at SANFL level this year when I have watched the odd game or two.

Roury Kirby - Glenelg

Ben Warren - South

Clint Alleway - North
Too Slow!

Clarke ( retire ).
Hart ( retire ).
Skipworth ( Delist )
Jericho ( Delist )
5th ???

I reckon we will delist 5 and take 4 in the draft and one in the pre-season. The question is who is the fifth delistie. For team crying out for quality young KPP's, I would be very disappointed if we delisted Gibson, especially when we have just an average half bank flanker in Hinge crying out to be delisted. Considering Smith was on our list for 5-6 years, Gibson must be pesisted with for at least one more year. If most kpp don't come into their own until around 22, I just hope this kid gets another year. He also has something which is lacking in abundance in our kpp stocks, natural aggression.
