The uproar of uncertainty and confusion. I suppose that's what happens when you eat too many sausage rolls. You get heart burn and you can't think clearly.

Do not let the two smaller competitions of The Champions League and The Eliminator detract your interest from the main competition.

I would have thought having three competitions up for grabs allows for more excitement and gives everyone extra motivation to keep going and continue smashing those sausage rolls.

You don't need to select three different teams. The rules haven't changed. Once you can digest that and your heart burn eases, it will be back to business as usual.

How can I be eliminated before I even knew I was in an elimination competition?

And if i'm eliminated - how do I compete in the Collins / Colons?

Can you un eliminate us all an eliminate more from week two?

Why do so many players names start with J?
You are eliminated only from The Eliminator. I thought that was obvious.

You don't get knocked out of The Collins Medal. That's again an entirely different competition.

I will explain in more detail when I open the thread for week two selections.

Can you chose two players from one tam? I feel dirty hoping a Plastics player will kick goals

Hahahha!

Xbox it made perfect sense to me. Everyone continues to pick teams as per usual but now there's 3 different competitions for people to win! Means it could keep things interesting for those at the bottom of the normal standings.

The ensuing confusion was funny though haha

Woohoo, a Danny to add to my Kelvins :D

although I'm now concerned that my accumulation of donuts may count against me in some form of countback ;)

haha was laughing out loud as I read through the thread.

All good X, thanks for organising.

All well and good except I was eliminated from an elimination competition I didn't even know I was in to be eliminated from. I completely understand the team situation and the games

Just a bit of fun

Hey StringyDog i'm starting up a rebel league of the eliminated...you in?

Lol

In the GF, is it the lowest scoring team for that quarter eliminated or is it cumulative? And if cumulative, is it cumulative for the GF or the cumulative score over the whole finals series? (Or cumulative over something else.) If only for the GF (i.e. all scores are reset to zero before the bounce) it penalises those who scored highest in previous rounds.
What if nobody has a goalkicker in the first quarter? Or any quarter for that matter.

Will there be new rules each week?
I will clarify this.

Five remaining teams will compete in the Eliminator on Grand Final day.

The lowest scoring team in the opening quarter will be eliminated. Four teams will remain. I will explain what happens in the event of a tie later.

At the end of the second quarter, the team with the lowest half time score will be eliminated. This isn't the lowest scoring team of the second quarter, but the lowest scoring remaining team of both the first and second quarters. Three teams will remain.

At the end of the third quarter, the remaining team who has scored the fewest points in total over the first three quarters will be eliminated. Two teams will remain.

In the Grand Final, the winner will be the team who has scored the most over all four quarters.

If two or more teams have the equal lowest score at any time at the end of a quarter, then all teams will advance. The two lowest scoring remaining teams will be eliminated in the following quarter.

I.e.
Let's assume these are the scores in the first quarter of the Grand Final.

Team A: 44 points
Team B: 9 points
Team C: 23 points
Team D: 9 points
Team E: 51 points

Because Team B and Team D have tied for the lowest score, neither team will be eliminated. All five teams will advance through to the second quarter. In the second quarter, the two lowest scoring teams will be eliminated.

As I explained on page three, there are Tie Break rules to separate teams who may be tied at the end of any week.

1. Highest overall score;
2. Highest weekly score;
3. Fewest overall zeros.

If there is still a tie after that, then an epic battle of online paper, scissors, rock will determine the winner. Does everyone have skype?

THE POWER TRIP

In honour of our new list management team, a competition within a competition for those who have been eliminated from a competition they didn't know they were competing in. Kinda like Jake rocking up to his exit interview and getting traded. You could also call it the blindside.

Each week after the round has been completed, team/s will be randomly selected from the list of teams and delisted. This could be for a stupid comment, or just because it's prudden-t competition management. Sometime you will know you've ****ed up, other times you will just walk into competition central and see that the list manager has cut you

It's an exciting opportunity and if you train hard, post well and just generally suck up, you might stay on the list

Good luck

The list management committee has met and decided that Yojimbo is the first person delisted.

For picking a team whose names all start with J.

The club wishes to thank Yojimbo for his services to banner writing over the last couple of seasons and wishes him well in his future endeavours

I love a themed round, grassman 75. I could be Peter Gordon for all you know and I could take this personally, because it's personal.
Or I could accept the call by the management committee who is obviously made up of a bunch of guys who were beaten by a quasi
lunatic poster with a fetish for the letter "J". Anyway good luck for this week and I hope you can handle Team "Hyphen" where
everything is bigger and better.

Not meant to be personal mate, just some fun eliminating people at random from my comp. you should try it, it's enjoyable. I see why X set up his eliminator! I thought you'd like the club statement part! :p
That's the Gordon legal new slogan "It's personal" just a play on words, I don't care too much I had a team where every players
name started with "J" so just having some fun watching games I am not that invested in. Quite impressed by all the colourful
charts to be honest.

Two delistings mid round - grassman75 - for failing to enter a team after talking shit all week in this thread (lucky there is still an entry but deserves to be cut) and X_box_X for not increasing the handicap on Sidey and Treloar after they didn't even come close to scoring last week
