The cult of Keeffe will gather momentum as the season unfolds.

Keefe could always just replace White too.
Seems counterintuitive given that White is superior to him as a forward, ruck, and is more mobile.

Jmac, did something happen to you during your sabbatical?

Apologies, but I can't join the Cult of Keeffe.

Cox is way ahead of Keeffe in just about every way

I wouldn't say that Dave.

I think Keeffe offers more around the ground, has better footskills and a greater defensive ability. He comes from a different background like Cox, but has far more experience at AFL level.

I think Cox can play 2 roles at the moment 'OK' (As a key forward or ruck). I don't think he excels at either, but is probably better than Keeffe in those areas.

I think Keeffe plays 3 to 4 positions 'OK' (Forward, Ruck, CHB or FB). He is probably below average as a forward, but has shown decent enough ability in the other 3 areas...with a relatively small sample size to be honest.

Realitically, if either is going to make it then they need to become better than just 'OK' in these roles. But Keeffe has a more rounded game. Cox on the other hand has potential in my opinion to become quite dominant...but I think it's a long shot.

White and superior should never be present in the same sentence.

Unless it's a comparison between he and Keeffe as forwards.

Perhaps 'less bad' would be more accurate?

Seriously though I see a position for both Keeffe and White in our best side. Cox is the one who plays VFL.

Disagree, but each to their own. I'll take Cox's superiority in the forward/ruck role over Keeffe's flexibility.

Isn't there already a cult of Cox (COC)

Too many American cults end in silence of the deathly variety. I'd only consider a second cult if Mason joins Corrosion of Conformity on the cow bell.

In terms of competition for spots, I would say:

White and Cox are better than Keeffe as a forward

White and Keeffe are better than Keeffe as a ruck

Schade and Dunne are probably better than Keeffe as a defender

However, Keeffe can do a little bit of everything, and plug a hole just about anywhere on the field.

It's where he becomes a viable option in my opinion.

I don't have him quite in my starting 22 right now, but he has 2 more JLT matches to show he can thrive in this utility role.

It's Dunn not Dunne.

His twin?

Given opposition 2 nd talls
2MP Boyd Tippett Patton Hawkins Jenkins Hogan Vickery etc we will be forced to play Keefe down back
Think the pies kidding themselves if we think we can run short backline like Dogs
We don't have anyone of the talent of Boyd Easton Wood or Morris who can make up lack of height with strength skill and talent
Keefe will have to play on those 2 m type ruck forwards as no one else ( bar Reid who has to take the number 1 KPF) can

He's not the messiah, and has been a naughty boy, but all that is in the past now. The second coming of Keeffe is upon us and it promises to be a divine experience. Able to relieve in the ruck, provide a forward option and shore up the defence when needed. This jack of all trades player could be the missing ingredient required for the team to launch into a miraculous return to finals footy.

Believe.

Any chance you remember what Keeffe was like before his 2 year suspension? Hopeless up forward and and a training cone in the ruck.

2 Years with no footy and now he's good at both of those roles...

He MIGHT be able to make it as a 2nd tall defender
