Lovett-Murray , have a rest son.
Cupes , welcome back. I know he`s done diddly squat for Bendigo , but he`s the type to come in and kick 3-4 next week. The ressies just doesn`t inspire him.

No way in hell I want Cupido playing in the seniors given the reports I've heard about his non-performance for Bendigo today. "Absolutely" and "pathetic" were two words that were seen together a lot after the game.

L-M did okay when switched back I thought - there are a few ahead of him for the chop imo.

And given that there are a number of forced changes likely there probably won't be too many others - which is very very lucky for a couple of players in particular, hands up David Hille and Aaron Henneman.

Hille in particular is lucky because Laycock has unluckily hurt his knee in a ruck contest. Otherwise the swap would have been imminent.

We don't want to make too many changes... We've already got two definite forced changes, and we may have more.

Outs: Wellman, Rioli, Misiti, Henneman
Ins: Murphy, Richards, Bullen, Winderlich

Cupido... No. Definitely not.

IN: Murphy, Winderlich, Bullen, Bradley, (Dyson), (Hunt)
OUT: Rioli, Wellman, Hille, Henneman, (Peverill), (Fletcher)

Of course, Hille and Henneman won't be dropped, but I can wish can't I?

If Fletch gets done - give Hunt a half and Bradley a half, and whichever one plays better keep for the following week and drop the other one.

Stealth... I have to say that that is one of the more frivolous comments regarding selection that I've heard for a while - but don't take that the wrong way.

Six changes? That's more than a quarter of the side, and nearly a third. Far too many. We still want to win next week, we aren't just going to pack up and go home because we lost to the premiership favourites.

And playing Hunt for a half and Bradley for the other half and see which one does better? If we want to see whether one of our youngsters can play, surely we should give them more opportunity than a half!

Edit: Regarding your edit: You'd think that if Fletcher and Peverill are rubbed out that we won't make more than those four changes that are forced upon us.

Frivolous maybe....but some serious thinking outside the box is needed for this team to go anywhere.

Our backline is seriously ****ed and needs fixing.

I don't think we should be pointing our fingers squarely at the backline though... Why did the ball go down there so often in the first place? We got killed in the middle. In the clearances, and because we were unaccountable and unfit. We don't put enough defensive pressure on through the middle, and it continues to hurt us in the big games.

I'll make 5

Outs: Hille, Wellman, Rioli, Stanton, Fletcher
Ins: Cartledge, Bradley, Hunt, Murphy, Winderlich

We won't need that many talls against Melbourne, I don't think.

And what's the deal with Stanton? I heard that he twinged his hammy late in the game, but I didn't see anything. How bad did it look?

It's bot the backline thats the problem STealth Bomber. It's the fact that players like Hille, Henneman and Alvey for some reason think it's their right to be playing for the Bombers, instead they should be forced to earn their spots, therefore make one or two shock changes to give these guys the message. They are not a Lloyd, Hird, Solomon or Johnson, thus they are dispensable. The loss of Rioli and Sean Not a Wellman really hurts but it gives someone like Bullen or Hunt or whoever gets brought in, to make a name for themselves. Stanton did this last week against the Lions and given he plays like that again, may be playing finals footy, or even in a Premiership, and this what the players need to realise, if we get our act together, we can win the flag. We showed for 20 minutes on Saturday when we had a 7 goal burst.

Slight twinge..probably worth resting him and getting him right from the game after the break.

Definates:
OUT: Wellman, Rioli, Stanton (injured)
IN: Richards, Murphy, Winderlich
Possibles
OUT: Hille, Lovett-Murray, Peverill, Fletcher, Misiti
INS: Cartledge, Bullen, Dyson, Hunt/Bradley

Wellman, Rioli and Stanton all because of injury, Winderlich gets another crack after a good effort against hawks.
If Pev and Fletch get suspended it may save Hille and L-M as they won't want to make seven changes. depending on the player dropped for who comes in,
Cartledge for Hille
Hunt for Fletch
Bullen/dyson for Pev/Misiti
Bradley for LM
no suspensions it'll be Bullen and Carts coming in, suspensions will mean Hunt and Bullen/Dyson get the go and Hille and LM MAY be safe

Did you see where I have said that Cupido has done diddly squat at Bendigo ? He could rot away there for the rest of the year or be brought back in and blitz, he is that type of player.

yes I saw it

he's already been brought back off no form into the senior side, and he played very poorly for a couple of games and was justifably dropped. So therefore he's had his free senior chance imo, and he deserved that chance based on last year don't get me wrong. But he'll have to earn his senior appearances from now on if you ask me.

His fitness is down and I'm willing to forgive him for that, but his problems appear to run deeper than that. It's not that hard for a player of his ability to put in for four quarters of a Bendigo match.

When he first came back from injury I was all for putting him in the seniors despite his form for Bendigo, because I thought the same you do - that he would respond better to the occasion of an AFL match, that he was a performer who would only respond to the big stage. However he didn't. And he's barely played a half decent quarter in all the games since his return, let alone a match.

Think about what it would also mean for the morale of pretty much every other senior listed player on the Bendigo list, all of whom would be performing better and certainly trying harder than Cupes, to be overlooked for him. It's already happened once, and as I said earlier no problem with that as his good season last year deserves it's rewards, but having not seized that chance or done anything to deserve a second should it be granted?

The way back into the senior side for Cupes is fairly simple, perform for Bendigo.

Having said all this it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Cupido is picked this weekend, Sheedy is our coach after all. :)

While on Cupido, over the summer the decision to operate him in 04 instead of 03 would have to go down as one of the worst the administration could have made since 'rewarding' bolton with a 3 year contract.

B: McVeigh Fletcher Welsh
HB: Solomon Henneman McPhee
C: Ramanauskas JJohnson Murphy
HF: Hird Lucas Bolton
F: Lovett-Murray Lloyd Haynes
R: Allan Peverill MJohnson
I/C: Hille Bullen Alvey (Stanton)

IN: Murphy, Bullen, Alvey, (Winderlich)
OUT: Rioli, Wellman, Misiti (Stanton)

EM: Winderlich Richards Misiti (Bradley)

I'd rather see Hunt or Bradley over Henneman, but I'm not holding my breath. If Henneman is in the side, then I hope he's played down back and not as a forward.

Stanton's fitness seems to be in question, so I'd bring Licha in if he's not up to it.

A few people have mentioned Cartledge, and whilst I think he looks a good prospect, Just from watching him play in the VFL this year I don't believe he is anywhere near ready for senior football at the moment.
What a shame Laycock got injured.

Cupido won't play; seems to be under a knee injury cloud.

Laycock apparently hurt his ribs and not his knee, as initially thought. So he might only be out a couple weeks.

Split round coming up, too.
