I'd hate to see LM dropped. Sure his kicking is a bit err erratic, but his hands are so good, coupled with his pace, that he really gives a decent target at half forward, plus he can crumb well.

Cupes got another 2 in the VFL, bring him back. He needs the big stage, and it needs him.

Mercuri and Stanton will probably be first to go back to the VFL. Think Joey has done enough, though Watson will be challenging for his spot soon.

Bullen gets back in if fit but i heard he's another week or so away.

I think Wellman really needs to put in a good performance this week or he may be on the chopping block, he has been very average since returning and looked lost against the swans.

No dropping of NLM for me.

Watson is a definate in imo. Bullen if he is fit would be a good chance. McVeigh reportably didn't come out of the rooms after half time against Tasmania, so I don't know what the story is there.

Mercs and Misiti would be in a bit of trouble. I agree Wellman is struggling but he's got a few credit points up his sleeve.

Hunt's played pretty well the past three games for Bendigo.

I'd like to see Laycock, not sure if he's done enough yet to deserve it. One excellent game, one solid game, two quiet games.

In Watson, Cupdio, Bullen
Out: Stanton, Mercs, LM

Mercs is hopeless - needs to play in the twos for a while. Stanton has time on his side and will play more games this year but just needs to settle down and be more composed. LM is flashy but Cupes is better and we can only afford on of em.

Watson is a must in - is the new engine room for us. Maybe a bit slow but he sure can find it in heavy traffic. Chuck him on Scott West this week and give him a challenge.

looking forward to a high scroing game this week.

In. Watson, Bullen, Cupido
Out. Lovett Murray, Misiti, Mecuri

Watson should be a definite inclusion this week. From what i have heard, he has been brilliant in the VFL and was also one of our best against Port in round 1. Deserves a spot. Bullen should be fully fit and should be included to give us some pace in the midfield and cupido to give us a good crumbing player in the forward line.
Lovett Murray needs to spend a week back in the VFL in my opinion. Hasn't impressed me since the game against Carlton. The 2 verterans Misit and Mecuri also need to try and regain some form and should be omitted.

Yep I agree with that.

Mercs needs to find some form so heres hoping he can. Stants has time. Watson has been in unreal form and Cupidos proved his fitness.

despite being old and slow misiti still manages to find the ball..wouldn't it be taking a bit too much experience out of the midfield to omit both mercuri and misiti?

No i don't think it would be taking much too much experience out of the midfield. Yes, Misiti still manages to find the football but Bullen can do that as well and has so much more pace. Plus Mecuri doesn't even play in the midfield these days so there will be no loss there.

OUT: Mercuri (poor form), Stanton (did okay, but we have real competition for a spot in the team atm)
IN: Cupido (cannot wait for Cupes and NLM in the same forward line - will be awesome), Watson (this boy is a gun.)

Lucky: Wellman - we can forgive one poor game from a club champion.
Misiti: Can't omit midfield guns against the Doggies, even if he is a bit slow, their midfield is their strength - we'll tire quicker than them, and being able to rotate Misiti off the bench will be very useful.

Unlucky: Bullen - another week in the twos
Stanton - did okay, as I said
Bradley - needs a bit of consistency IMO - I want him dominating the VFL every week, dammit!

I'm not convinced Bullen will play. Maybe Mercs will get lucky.

Very happy we've kept LM, and although i really want to see Cupido i suppose the club have learnt some lessons and aren't rushing players back, which is a good sign.

I think the club is setting the precedent with Cupes and McVeigh that you are not a guaranteed walk up start into the firsts. This inturn creates competition for spots which will only strengthen the side. I have no doubt both will beback within 2 weeks, probably next week, but by making them get form and earn their spot, they will be thjat much more focussed when they come in.

Competition for spots will help the team as it will mean when the kids get a run, they will have earned it and there won't be the same expectations on them as were in say Round 1. A contirbution will be seen as a bonus, not a necessity. Les pressure on the kids will mean they will more likely play better when they have a run.
