What did he die of?

Dash didnt say.

I just think that it is very sad , it just goes to show that you never know when your time is to go , enjoy your life , no doubt Geelongs success over the past 5 years was nirvana for Wayne.

Geelong FC should at the least send a few players to attend his funeral and even have the 07 , 09 , 11 cups there to send him off.

They have lost their most frequent talkback Geelong FC ammbasodor.

Do any of these still call in?

I am upset to hear about wayne he was one of the blokes who
I think most listeners enjoyed listening to. I remember being at a sen christmas party back in 2006 or 07 & wayne was there. I did not speak to the man but i remember him being like a nice man.

It would be good if sen could
Pay tribute in some way in the next few days. He was a regular on every show & respected by many

Gee, that's a shock.

I did hear him say a couple of weeks ago that he wouldn't be driving his cab and may not be able to send as many texts.

Maybe he was sick, but it is sad news.

I heard him in the last week or so and thought at the time he was struggling for breath as he spoke....sounded very wheezy to me..

..it is a dreadful shock....RIP Wayne

I did notice and remember he was coughing a few times during his calls over the last week or so, but either way he was great contributer especially for the night owls listening.
R.I.P he will be greatly missed.

You get a few of those callers from time to time but nowhere near the volume they used to ring up. Jim from Hawthorn would be the only reasonably regular one left with the passing of Wayne. Sad news about Wayne.

Was Dimmy the wrestling guy?

Luke from East Hawthorn, Chris from Camberwell (lol Newton), David from St Kilda. All the same vintage.

I used to finish work at midnight and listen to Schibecci on the way home. Billy was always in the first few callers and primed to call someone a dud.
