really intersting listening to addiction show. ive felt for some time there is a severe conflict on the station involving this show. a show that IMHO the most important show on the station. someone advised fine that there was an advertisement for gambling during the show. fine took on and investigated this, but rebutted in that the ad was a promo for KBs show and simply replayed part of an interview that involved horseracing identity.

so yes technically fine is right. he was mature and noted that the station is commercial and required on sponsorship from gambling agencies. added that he would be very upset if gambling ads were played during the show.
Agree when you say "important". Personally, I hate listening to it and find it beyond depressing, but unlike a lot of shows at the station it's easy to remember why it's there and how selfish and petty it would be to complain about it.

yes as a society/community thing its vital. however, i see what you mean by depressing so to speak. you have every right to complain about it, we live in democracy, and have freedoms to express ourselves.

It would be immoral IMO to complain about a weekly one hour show that helps so many people. Especially when they are usually the people desperate for help.

does allen usually tell listeners what is coming up on the show like this?

"coming up in a minute we've got peter siddle from the bushrangers, but before we get to him we've got Suzi from Ballarat on the line who's been waiting for a while, you can call in on 9429 1116 or SMS on _________. Suzi from Ballarat we'll get to you after the break.

Really liked Jason Bennett today, could listen to him for hours. His American sports knowledge is outstanding.

On a side note his commentary of the GWS game earlier in the year when the main Ch 7 team were AWOL was a breath of fresh air.

Came here to say the same thing. Never missed a beat in his talk of all US sports, incredible.

Would go very well with Steve Salisbury on his show....would give a genuine professional touch to the show listening to TWO guys who know a thing or two about overseas sports........... much better than Shane Donohue who likes the sound of his own voice and talks over Steve all the time..

Ha, how about Milne and Zantuck? They reckon Bon Jovi is the best band that ever was and ever will be :D
The self-proclaimed music aficionado of SEN, Peaky, let himself down the other night.Claimed that Eric Carr was the current drummer for Kiss (died 25 yrs ago) and that Deep Purple's Jon Lord had an ongoing side-project (died 3 yrs ago).

Professionals like Jason Bennett and Peter Donegan seem to be always on the fringes of the media - They are wasted talents.

every show

The Stkilda following presenter has his back up tonight folks.
For the record Mark, Stkilda's handling of the Carlisle trade has been ordinary .
Swinging in the breeze

Some of the callers' jokes tonight on the Run Home were piss funny, haven't laughed that much in the car in quite a while.

My favourite had to be "I want to die like my grandfather, peacefully in his sleep, not like the screaming passengers in his car"

When you go through a period without schibeci, it just emphasises how ordinary he is and the station is better off without him.

George Donikian might not be there for serious soccer analysis. But he was miles more entertaining than Carlos Alberto dumbo.
Absolutely spot on Schibeci is amateur radio, when they gave him the arse he should have gone forever. I thought Harf was good again on MG the trouble was he had to put up with Goofy Gaze.
