Brilliant radio by the MG boys calling the Champions League penalty shoot-out this morning. Skipped the 7:30 news for Billy, Tim and Andy to call it. I'm at work and can't watch it, and their call has me as toey as a roman sandal.

Classic SEN. There's a penalty shoot-out in a big match and they'll spend the whole day discussing whether they should have them or not.

And even more classic, they manage to change the topic to AFL and discuss whether they should introduce it.

Can't wait for Doran to give his wisdom on the matter this afternoon.

Now we know why there's so many stupid rules being introduced into the AFL cos of the way this guy thinks.

Keep playing and they'll eventually score? Take players off every 5 minutes to create more space? The two defences from both sides have been superb all season, they could be playing until tomorrow.

Yeah, this isn't the AFL and a national competition. This is a continental final. All those fans wont be happy to stay an extra week. They probably couldn't stay that long anyway since the Visa compromise was they'd enter the country with their game ticket and then have to leave the country afterwards.

And I don't think the AFL is short on muppets after this interchange fiasco. One stuff up in 100+ years and they introduce a ridiculous but significant procedural change MID SEASON. Amateur hour.

Penalty taking and saving is a skill in itself and takes alot of nerve to control your shot. Have a shootout between Germany and Samoa if he wants proof it's not just a lottery.

Jabso, do you mind clarifying this post. I am not really up to speed with the issue and not 100% sure what you point is here.

I did hear Francis crapping on and already made my views apparent in ths thread for what they are worth but am not familar with the Beva/leach fracas despite the fact that yesterday leach would only refer to him as losing "a friend".

There is nothing wrong with the penalty system. Only people who don't love the game want it to be radically changed. KB stick to ruining the AFL leave soccer alone.
