Yeah, I said that before they should have Born in the USA on alternating nights. There will still be stuff for the diegos to talk about like Australia World Cup qualifiers and transfers in Europe. I can't stand them either. Finey's Ball Tearer's show is much better for the soccer faithful.

This is the bloke who about a month ago wrote a big article based on the fact the North-West Coast game was the only match at Carrara this year.

Those are the only 2 shows on the station that already talk a fair bit about the Olympics, especially Doran's show.

guess what, they were talking about sam newman. however when i flicked to 3aw they were reading emails out in support of sam, from female listeners!

Yeah i know the same thing actually happened on fiveaa however what happened was about 5 female callers first rang in saying they love Sam Newman. Then once they did all these ones called up saying they hated him. In the end it was more negative towards Sam than not.

That's why talkback radio often doesn't get a good representive of the public. Often people just ring up to disagree.

They were also the only ones who cared about Sally Robbins making the Olympic team or not.

I think one important thing that separates the good and bad presenters, is they know what the listeners are and aren't interested in. KB, Frank, Finey etc have this skill. Doran has none. Maher has little.

happens everywhere now.

someone rang up 3aw sports tonight show and said that caro should retire and that healy/russell should also take time off for sticking up for her.

presenters have fingers in every pie and are afraid to tell it like it is (or at least get off the fence).

I normally dont listen to Doran due to Uni but I don't want to come home and put on Finey and here an Olympic show. Doran is more interested in the Olympics. He has a Beijing bound segment and like people say he rambles on about Darcy and Robbins. In fact I don't think Finey needs the Olympic segment. Doran does a fair bit already.

I missed it, but I heard him bill him as "Neil Kerley". Think he meant Neil Kearney.

Doran will be fine. SEN wouldn't send someone over who isn't such a model professional and does hour of research before each show, and is socially aware of things... oh wait.

Was mostly about how you're expected to speak some chinese while you're there and the people there speak little english compared to other countries. So Doran, Matt Thompson and whoever goes over will need to learn a few phrases that will get them around.

The name error wasn't as embarassing with Morning Glory the other day. Andy Maher was the only one who knew his proper name.

Yeah I heard that. Amazed that people and especially Doran can't remember stuff like that.

Glad to see Katich make a hundred last night. Doran has been going on and on about how Hodge should be opening because he scored more in the last Test. Katich made a record number of runs in the last season, so I think he deserves his spot.

To be honest I'm over SEN. Far too many people on that station 'act' like they are better then everyone else, and really need to hop down from their high horses, in particular, Francis Leech and Andy Maher.

The way Andy wouldn't listen to Bill's explanation for why Sam wasn't going to be on the Footy Show infuriated me beyond belief - if anyone would know what's going on, it would have been Billy. To just dismiss him and say he was wrong is completely arrogant and obnoxious.
