I could not agree more.
They should have called the Dragons game in the regional league.
Dare I hope the Boys are going to win for once :D
Heal is on fire as well, as a true leader that he is ... :thumbsu:

Pretty much agree there.

But there are other candidates....
- Lawn Bowls World on Sunday mornings
- That Swimming show Nicole Livingstone hosted
- In the very early days of SEN, a guy called Gary Turner hosted Friday nights, and I swear this is true, asked people to call up and talk about volleyball and Twister (the board game, not the fried chicken product).
- And there was a lot of stuff during that awful time they tried to broadcast into Adelaide which had you shaking your head.

Some may also say the Fishing show they have on Saturday mornings, but that has a ripping opening theme ('I'm just a weekend fisherman...".

i love that song
:thumbsu: :D

Speaking of weird callers, how about this one? Not so much weird, but a bit of an attempt at humour. Some bloke called Jeffrey (I think) put on an Indian accent and said "I hear a rumour that the Cricket World Cup will be held in Australia in 2011...I also hear the final will be at Optus Oval".

I'll give credit to that bloke, but even funnier was how Brett Phillips believed he wasn't taking the piss :D He phoned Tony the next night and said "yeah, he gets his news from the Kumar Times"

Ah hell I suspect it is that Geoff from Wantina geezer (or sometimes he calls himself Shaun from Hawthorn)
He is a country near Iraq and must have come from a very repressed society because he really holds nothing back (after midnight LOL)

Some of his gems lately include -
Jason Akermanis to be traded for Michael Voss
Ben Graham to leave the Jets to sign with the Melbourne Victory
Graham Smorgon to be replaced as president of Carlton by Bill Clinton.
The Soccer World Cup from 2010 to be moved from South Africa to Optus Oval
Since Carlton recruited Cain Ackland from St.Kilda, the Blues won't use the no 1 pick in the national draft on Leuemberger or Bryce Gibbs, but rather Aaron Hennemen from Essendon
Also his favourite commentator is one who calls public executions from his country :) (Troy Zantuck said in reply he's lost his head :D )

SEN has a lot of weirdos on the airwaves (esp Chrstian from Mount Eliza) but this bloke tops the cake.
Somehow I missed that sizable post...haha, yeah that is some gold right there! Good documentation of those events, as Peaky would say.

I'm sure you remember what Brett Phillips' reaction was to this bloke ;) I don't know what it is that makes these blokes incapable of understanding when someone is taking the piss... If that Ben Graham to the Victory rumour can't make you laugh, then nothing can; magnificent work.

even Zantuck, who fancies himself as a comedian, didn't take it that well. He should have started a rumour about Ty Zantuck being picked up by West Coast in the PSD, see what Troy's reaction is then!

i was just about to win another sanity voucher on the 4 diegos when the caller behind me didnt know the answer but some bitch in the background helped him and i was next on air .grrrrrrr

Zantuck is as about as funny as cancer. :thumbsd:

Perth has got it right! I've been here for three months after living in melbourne all my life. I was an SEN-aholic and loved it though the topics got boring at timers and some of the presenters left a lot to be desired at times.

Here we have FM 90.5 - it is Sport FM from Friday nights until Sunday nights, with the rest of the week it is something akin to Magic 1278. The sport component is about 75% live sport (A-League, WAFL, AFL, NRL, District Cricket) complemented by suburban cricket shows and a couple of shows for stuff like boxing - no boring triathlon, wrestling or other sh1te "sport" shows like that.

Even better is that there is no talkback which means that we aren't flooded by BS topics for hours on end and self-opinionated hosts steering conversations back to their specialised subject when it drifts away from their control momentarily.

Hopefully for my friends back in Melbourne, SEN gets more rights to more events and cuts down on the talkback as a result to give the station more quality output - that's probably the key to raising the ratings.

finally that annoying computer tutor add is gone , and hopefully jacqes from zenia mortgages is gone as well

those mark mitchell radio advertising ads are giving me the ********es

I generally switch stations when the following are discussed:

motor sport
triathlon
cycling
swimming
athletics
extreme sports (I think theres actually a show dedicated to this)

Personally I find them boring, but each to their own

currently listening to beva after dark. ******** mark fine struggles as a host.
Finey should stick to producing!

Beva ********s all over him, Finey After Dark is almost unbearable. Thank god Beve is only gone for the week. This is the last night we have to put up with Finey as tomorrow night SEN will have live A-League coverage.

Not to mention he is a ******** ground announcer at the Victory games!!

The mathemagic ad will be back next year at the start of the school year, don't worry :( They need to get Frank Walker's ads on there more often.

if you want a gig at sen just hang around the place a bit a kiss a few backsides and bobs your uncle

good station but their on air talent is woefull

I just want to list my worst on air talent, since we're on the subject.

1. Bill Brownless (and sometimes Tim Watson)- Reluctantly listen to morning glory, and the amount of stupid/sexual/immature innuendo is rediculous. Contributes little of substance and actually brings Tim Watson down to his level. If I hear them discussing soccer and say 'But in AFL' within 30 seconds I tune out.

2. Mark Doran - I just don't like his voice. When I listen, after about 10 seconds I forget what he's said because it all sounds the same. Not a great host or reporter, Casual Friday is far the best because of the other contributors.

3. Mark Allen - Smug, arrogant, single sport expert. Has no sense of humour, knows nothing apart from golf, refuses to treat Pickering with any respect. Boring as hell.

Special mentions to - Tony Schebecci, Matt Thompson, Nigel Purchase, Nick Holland.

Best on air talent, thankfully there's more mentions here than above.

1. Beva - the thorough professional, the only on air person who genuinely has a clue about all of cricket/AFL/soccer. No crap or self importance on his show.

2. Huddo/Schwarz - Of all the personality type programs/hosts these 2 are the most likable, plus they focus on the main issues and have entertaining segments.

3. Andy Maher - This guy is the most underrated person on radio. Without him the morning glory would be 3 hours of degrading women and other football codes apart from AFL. Brings credibility to the show, and keeps the other 2 in line.

4. Richo/Harf - Sort of the weekend version of the run home but in the morning. Fun show and they know their sport.

5. One Week At A Time - Forget their names, but after a few shows I like their perspective of sport. They are my age and a lot of the topics they talk about I relate to. No old fogie stories. Great for their time slot.

Special mentions to 4 Diegos, KB, Brett Phillips, Stephen J Peake, Peter Micato.
