I wanna be adored.

Friggin' great band. I don't care what kind of music you consider your genre. There's a definite respect for that 'Madchester' sound that I think most music fans identify with. And the Stone Roses are probably at the forefront of that.

Ian Brown is probably the prototype of what a modern day frontman is expected to be. Ask Noel Gallagher for example.

They kind of predated grunge but epitomised it at the same time.

I hear you brother.

Their first album is one of the greatest debut albums of all time - absolutley spectacular.

It's a shame that they never went on with it it for various reasons but the mark they left in the UK in the late 80's is early 90's is legendary.

In Brown has proven his worth as a solo artist and still puts on brilliant live performances.

If only Brown and Squire could reconcile their differences and reunite the Roses for one more album and tour, it would be truly awesome.

Sadly I don;t think that this will ever happen...

Elephant Stone = brilliance

Second Comming was such a underrated album. Some songs such as love spreads, your star, good times are fantastic.

John Squire was one of the most influential guitarists in the 90's while Brown could just sing (singing live though).

The first album, The Stone Roses, is pretty much put it as the only album ill ever give 10/10.

I wanna be adored - What way to open

I am the resurrection - What a way to finish an album

Two tracks that are just massive.

Made of stone, She Bangs the drums, Shoot you down, This is the one.

If you dont have it.. get it!!

Agree, but what about Defintely Maybe

Lucky enough to see them live at The Metro in Melbourne.
As you would expect they were brilliant.

I watched Green Street Hooligans recently & was excited to hear I Wanna Be Adored & Waterfall feature.
I Am The Resurrection - an all time classic. :thumbsu:

Stones Roses smoke most of todays bands by the length of a straight, they make Muse look like the library card carrying band that they are.

I normally don't agree with you about anything to do with music, but you've nailed it with that comment.

Was listening to 'Waterfall' last night. What a magnificent song that is, from one of THE most brilliant records every committed to tape.

If you don't own the self-titled album, then you don't deserve ears.

first album is fantastic... second album still very solid but the genuis is in their first album.

i saw a stone roses cover band in dublin and they were pretty cool but more than anything it just made me realise how good it would be if these guys were still doing their thing.

They were offered big money for a reunion but Squire and Brown will prob never be on the same stage again. Best you could hope for would be Brown doing a full set of Roses songs. Did one of them a couple of years ago.

Been thrashing The Stone Roses of late. So amazing.

Yes LTD Def Maybe is the other 10/10 album just didnt want to bring Oasis into it...

Saw Ian Brown earlier this year in Melbourne and he was amazing.

What does everyone think about John Squires short lived post Roses band The Seahorses?

I saw Brown in Adelaide & his set was awesome, even better to see him somewhere as small as The Gov as well.

The Seahorses weren't bad, Do It Yourself was a pretty good album, some real good tracks on there, especially Love Me And Leave Me.

Massive fan.

What can i say that hasn't already been written apart from not many albums start and finsih with 2 wonderful songs. I wanna be adored , she bangs the drums then ending with This is the one and I am The ressurection.
