9.St Kilda
10.Sydney

12.Melb
13.Kang
14.WB
15.Geel
16.Carl

Aren't Collingwood supposed to be ordinary on talent but well coached? I'd say they're too high.

Essendon are far too high as well. They're a bit like the Bulldogs, great top tier players but it falls away after that.

Post is updated.

The bottom five IMO are as bad as each other, you could throw them up in the air and see which way they land

Thier easily interchangeable

Richmond, probably a bit high, even Tigers fans might agree.
At least the Kangas should be ahead of them.

I respectfully disagree with this "talent ladder". And no, I am not prepared to put my own ideas down, because I am definately not an expert when it comes to rating teams on basis of talent.

Perhaps you then could explain how an apparently talentless team can be currently competing for 2nd position?

Honestly, this has to be THE dumbest thread going around. I love how, when faced with a situation that people don't like (ie Sydneyphobes having our success thrust in their faces), they begin to argue intangibles. It's so damn... predictable.

This is a stupid thread.

Anyway, if you're going to do this analysis at least do it properly.

Talent doesn't have to be realised, it just has to be there. It can be latent, which is why it's so hard to analyse and why this is a stupid thread.

That's what I thought you were going to do with this thread, analyse which teams - given the talent on their list performing to their potential - are better than the others. But then you write stuff like that above which seems to indicate that you're basing your analysis on current and previous form.

Totally inconsistent!

Saints and Freo may have had one good to medium year but that's fine. The question that YOU proposed was which team was more talented. They both may well be more talented than Collingwood, it just means that St. Kilda and Freo are UNDERACHIEVING whereas Collingwood may be OVERACHIEVING.

The way you've done it you may as well have called the thread "BEST TEAMS OF LAST TWO YEARS"

Yet you've put melbourne infont of geelong, care to explain that?

If you lived in WA you would know that you can never believe a single word Dennis says...;)

2000 we made the Grand Final and lost to the strongest team in the modern era.

2002 we were a couple of kicks away from playing in the Preliminary Final against Collingwood (if it wasn't for some in-match injuries perhaps)

What have Geelong done in that time?
