I checked to see if there was another thread up about this game and was surprised to see there wasn't. Anyway, this is a cracker of a game, it;s a 1st person (or 3rd person) puzzler, but the puzzles aren't what really has piqued my love and enjoyment for this game. The philosophical discourse within has. I highly recommend this to any of you interested in philosophy and technology, the combination just works in this. It's on sale at Steam now, too, 33% to $27US.

I'd be interested in hearing the thoughts of any whove played it.

Just went through the first area which I guess is more of a prologue section. Loving the theosophical undertone which is something I love in books and movies and not nearly used enough properly in games. The dialogue with the computer assistant is a great touch.

Yeah, the MLA conversations can be pretty hilarious. I also very much enjoy the theosophical undertone, I find it fascinating, and this game does it just as well as any other out there. It's a damn shame this title is doomed to niche cult following already, I thought more people here would be into it (unless I'm overestimating BF gamers!).

I'm not that far into the game either, but I am intrigued to find out what has happened to the world around The Talos Principle, and what the hell exactly is going on re: AI and reality.

Got a bit further in yesterday and think I'm getting a grasp of where some of the philosophy is heading: what constitutes being alive? Probably something better for discussion outside of a vidya game board, but life is subjective and so far we only have life as we know it to go by. We are probably only around the corner from sentient machines and how would a synthetic being obtain rights or even citizenship? Love how the game hints at the issue of morality with this topic and leaves it subjective and open ended by you getting to choose your responses with the MLA. Game seems to pay a lot of service to Isaac Asimov fans as well as theosophy and philosophy in general. I know in the end it really boils down to just a puzzle game but the narrative really is something. The moment I get this stupid dying light platinum out of the way I will be sinking some serious energy into this game.

This is supposed to be out on ps4 tomorrow (13th oct). Haven't seen any word of it other than all the results on a Google search say that is the ps4 date and the preorder button from the EB games listing has gone so I assume it to be the case. If the digital price is decent I'll get it straight away as I stopped playing the of version once I learned of the ps4 port.

I likely will too, I haven't finished it on PC either, but have gone through quite a bit of it.

It's a really good game that deserves more people playing it, so hopefully coming out on PS4 will help that.

Would be also interesting to see if Croteam added anything to the game (extras, levels, etc).

I saw some retail pricing around $60-79, if so, that might be a bit steep for some people especially considering the price on Steam.

The ps4 edition is being called the deluxe edition. I thought that was just for the retail version hence the price tag but I think the digital edition is called that too. After paying bugger all for it on Steam I would like to know what is special about this port for the price. I tried googling what was different about the deluxe edition and I couldn't find anything. This is flying massively under the radar. An issue or two ago OPS Aus mag didn't even have it in their horizon section when they had heaps of other junk. I asked them about it on their FB page which they are usually happy to chat with everyone on but I got nothing.

Great puzzle game and strong recommendation to anyone who is into stuff like Portal 2. The script was probably better in Portal and a little more light hearted but same sort of thing. First person puzzler but delves into some pretty deep philosophical stuff. I think so many people who would enjoy this will miss out since there seems to be so little (if anything) to promote it.

Looks very interesting, I'll probably give it a go depending on price. There's a few reviews up on metacritic, apparently the only difference in the deluxe edition is it contains the DLC from the PC version

I don't think this performed poorly at all, pretty sure it had great sales. Just not enough PC gamers on these forums for the discussions to take place. This board isn't a good spot for gauging a PC game haha

Fairly certain I read talks of a sequel, so it must have sold well.

Love this game. Last time I got all the blocks as I went but hardly bothered with stars. This time trying to get stars too. Only up to A3 and it's devilish where some of the stars or ways to access them are by needing to back track through completed puzzles and what not to find a hidden gate that may have opened.

Will take a few runs through for platinum I think since it won't allow manual saving. Other option might be to export a few saves at different points to the external and reload them when I'm done.

I'm further now than I was on PC version. Absolutely love it. So far have completed all of A and B worlds including messenger portals and star rooms. Almost done C then I'll have to climb the tower. Some of the messages left behind on the terminals are getting quite depressing. I've actually spent more time on Youtube looking up easter eggs people have found, didn't realise there were so many. Some are pretty simple like an object hidden away behind a sneaky corner or something, others are quite elaborate and I have no idea how people even found to behind with. Some of the ways to obtain some stars are quite tricky too. I really struggled early on but now my mind is pretty well trained to how their puzzles are set up but the tricky ones are when you need two or three different puzzles to set up one star. Some of the white block rooms are brutal too. One in world A, I think it was called Nerve Racking or something like that has been the most intense so far. Has been the only one I have come across where it actually came down to fast, twitchy actions to quickly dodge between mines and set up doors with the phase shifty thingy.

Up to second world of Gehenna. Some of these puzzles are insane. It's really fun though as it is actually a prequel to the main game. Without spoiling anything it makes great use of the terminal.

Only have one ending to go of the main game, left it until last because I have to load an older save that I exported to USB to get it. Have a funny feeling it was just after I made a wrong choice in terminal dialog that had me miss a trophy but hopefully it is in the recent backup restore of that save file otherwise I'm going to have to speed run another play through. At least won't have to get stars or white bricks again.
