Funny, funny s**t :D:D:D

POST 14:

There were very few youngsters (about half a dozen) who shone for the Swans this year. Your team is full of old "has beens" and middle aged "should be's". Your b&f is 30 years old.

Yes you won a few games toward the end of the season. It happens a lot when the coach is replaced mid year. The honeymoon is over for Roos and the reality of many years rebuilding will bite next year.

Laughed out loud at that absolute classic. Nice thread :thumbsu:

What a lot of egg 'hotpie' and 'MarkT' have on their faces. I guess supporters like them are the reason Pies supporters are so universally hated. Such little wisdom inside such amazingly big heads, and very little knowledge of opposition clubs players. If they weren't so funny they would be embarrasing - in fact they are both.

Back in time to a little over a year ago to hear from our friends on the West Coat board about the two teams respective futures.

Do you seriously believe that?

Have a good look at your list and you will see that your best players are all over 30. Hall, Barry, Kirk, O'Loughlin are all 32! Goodes and Bolton are 29.

In fact you have ten players on your list who are over 28. West Coast has four, and none of those are yet 30. I think the fact that we have had eight top 22 picks from the last two drafts puts us in a stronger position than Sydney. Glass is 28. Wirra is 29. If the Swans players can play 'til old age, I'm sure those two have a couple of more years left in them.;)

Hunter is finished IMO, however he is no longer an integral part of our team. He suffered with injury for most of last year and players like Makenzie and Brown have taken over his position in the backline. He is being played in the forwardline to get him to his life membership.

Kerr has missed one game with injury this year, so I dont really see your point? You saw part of our future midfield last night. Cockie, Selwood x 2, Priddis, McNamara, Masten. Add to those Ebert, Shuey, Swift, Houlihan and Natanui and I think we will be alright. They are all showing something.
Yes, you are trying to be mean.

Considering your best players are all 32 I think we can all see the future for Sydney.

Are we struggling? Well I guess 3-5 is not that great, however we have lost four of those games by less than three kicks, so the turn around from where we are to where we want to be is not that far away.

When you consider the average number of games for our team was 68 last night, it was a very young team with plenty of upside and only a kick off the pace away from home.

I think that light in the tunnel is getting brighter. However Sydney's train has left the station.:)

Wow.

I mean Wow.

This is a pisstake, right?

Not sure who you are referring to as promising players 2 or 3 years ago who havent come on, but in last nights game we had the following players who were 21 or under with less than 50 games:

Mitch Brown, Shannon Hurn, Josh Kennedy, Eric Mackenzie, Chris Masten, Jamie McNamara, Adam Cockie & Scott Selwood. We also had LeCras & McKinley at 22 and under 50 games.

Sydney had:

Kieren Jack, Jesse White, Brett Meredith & Craig Bird.

You have 17 players on your list 21 or under. West Coast have 25.

Of that group, here are those form the last 3 drafts and their draft positions:

2006:

Sydney: Daniel O'Keefe (??) (15th), Daniel Currie (49th), Peter Faulks (gawn) (65th), Jesse White (79th)

WCE: Mitch Brown (16th), Eric Mackenzie (29th), Tim Houlihan (43rd), Will Schofield (50th), James Thompson (80th).

Result - WEST COAST BY A MILE.

......

2007:

Sydney: Pat Vezpremi (11th), Brett Meredith (29th), Craig Bird (59th)

WCE: Chris Masten (3rd), Brad Ebert (13th), Tony Notte (20th), Scott Selwood (22nd)

Result - EARLY BUT WEST COAST WITH 4 TOP 22 PICKS WIN + THEY ADDED JOSH KENNEDY!!

......

2008:

Sydney: Lewis Johnson (12th), Daniel Hannebery (30th), Campbell Heath (61).

WCE: Nick Natanui (2), Luke Shuey (18), Tom Swift (20), Ash Smith (36), Jordan Jones (52).

HMMM.... this isn't fair.

......

Last night your team had the following players over 30 and in their last year or 2:

Kirk, Hall & O'Loughlin.

You then had the following players who were all older than everyone on WC's team bar Wirrapanda:

Goodes, Bolton, Bolton, O'Keefe.

Your Glass comment is great, he turned 28 this week. At the end of this season you will have 13 players on your list over that age!

So, you take out Kirk, Hall, O'Loughlin, Goodes, Bolton, Bolton & O'Keefe and we take out Wirra & Glass.

We add in Brown, Mackenzie (both 2006) and the 7 Top 22 picks from the last 2 years and you can have umm no-one (2006 doesnt look great for you) and 2 Top 22 picks.

So we will lose less players, already have a younger list full of high picks and a few are already established players and you lose your entire forward-line and all your midfield talent.

But we are in "relatively similar situations"?

NFI

If I could find the posts from the end of last year where they were all saying "Look at the ladder" and saying it was impossible for it to change this year I'd post it. It was good reading.:thumbsu:

Wow. Just wow.

Loved the last line. "We are in a similar situation?" he said sarcastically. Well we certainly aren't.

already have a younger list full of high picks

Key word there being "high" instead of "good"...

This post scares the crap out of me:

"Don't spose the Pies would like Gerrard Bennett and Brett Kirk for Nick Davis!? lol"

Lucky no one listens to BigFooty

Saw that an initially thought... "joke offer" then saw when it was and that he repeated it and realised it was genuine. Still scary to me though...

I've said it before but I think this is the most talented bunch of kids that I have seen running around in red and white ever and I haven't even got to see a couple of the better ones that are still toiling in the reserves.

On the Couch on Monday showed a ladder from the 06 season, we were 7th and the weagles were 14th, thats got to tell them something like THEY ARE GOING BACKWARDS.

What happened to the dynasty?

The funniest thing about the Pies thread from 2002 is the Pie posters' utmost faith in the quality of their kids - not just the icing on the cake but the core of this wonderful developing team. Yet a few years later they were back down the bottom claiming a priority pick.

Almost as bad as the Weagles collecting a priority pick just two years after winning the premiership.

Surely there are some more threads featuring some of those rash-swapping Essendon fans from the past two years ... Miss Vonn pulled out a coupla beauties a week or so back.

Love seeing Bomber fans choke on their own shite.
