Which player(s) do you want your club bring in or do you think your club are interested in bringing in during the January transfer window?


Supposedly Liverpool have shown interest in Remy, Huntelaar and Ba to fill the need for a striker (the latter two come out of contract in the summer and may be available at a cut price).
Our interest in Theo Walcott is still ongoing as he and Arsenal remain at a stalemate over his contract renewal while Lewis Holtby's (also out of contract at the end of the season) agent has said that a Premier League club (us or Arsenal) has made an offer for him.

It seems we are looking to take advantage of players with uncertainty over their futures either for footballing or contractual reasons to make the most of what will not be an excessively large budget (said to be approximately 20m unless players are also sold).

One rumour I'd love to see come to fruition (though admittedly for a variety of reasons it is an absolute pipe dream) would be to bring in Christian Eriksen. He has all the attributes Rodgers covets, can fill any of the front 4 positions in a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 and has even been playing as a false 9 for Ajax recently showing his versatility.

5 options I would like to see AVB go after:

Willian - I know we have a lot of AM's but neither Dempsey or Gylfi have looked comfortable out wide behind the front man.
Huntelaar - With Adebayor off to the ACN in Jan-Feb and Defoe our only other striker we need another striker. And big Klaas would be an upgrade on Defoe and whether or not Ade returns to 11-12 form is yet to be known. Can see him getting a run between now and his depature but would still like Klaas to join
Zaha - All the rave in the championship and a winger who can score goals and even play up front is something AVB would consider.
Eriksen - Extremely unlikely but would be the best signing of the window for us. Isco seems to be linked to the Manchester clubs which could leave this gem available.
Damiao - Like Eriksen I cant see it happening but would be a dream come true.

Not sure on Alderweireld if we were to sell Dawson and never see Gallas again I would like it. Linked with the usual suspects; Negredo, Jonas, Ba, Carroll, Moutinho. But I either cant see them happening at all (Moutinho & Negred) or not interested (the other 3)

Think/hope we will ship out Livermore, Bentley

Isco is a gun. If Soriano and Begiristain are trying to create a Barcelona Mk II at Etihad then he's definitely the sort of player you should be looking at.

yeah he is perfect for us. nasri has underwhelmed massively and silva is iffy with his ankle problem. young and hopefully we can nab him before he signs a new contract.

guys like barry, lescott, milner, player who are either squad players on pretty comfy wages or players the wrong side of 30 will probably be asked to either take pay cuts or told they will be sold/let go. lescott looks the most likely with his phasing out.

Don't see the point in getting Zaha. He's isn't an improvement on either Sterling or Assaidi and Palace would ask 10m for him. Walcott for all the criticism sent his way, actually scores goals which is what we need right now.

Agree, getting far too talked about for my liking. Worth 5-10million but they will ask for 15-20mill.

Not sure what will happen with us, will depend on getting the takeover pushed through before the end of the window. Can't see Bates shelling anything out if he's about to sell (couldn't see it anyway).

I think Man City will get him, which I hate. Falcao, Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli. Will push out Dzeko which could be the only positive. Would love Spurs to sign him.

Huntelaar and Llorente also interesting players who could be sold. You'd imagine Liverpool would sign one.
