He'd be better off going to somewhere like Spurs to establish himself then make the jump to a club like Bayern.

I have a question around that. Apparently Carroll currently has a heel injury.

What does passing a medical involve? If he's currently injured, how does he pass it?
Being at WH last season might have helped him get through the medical there while injured too I'd imagine

Real Madrid are following the rules. They can actually afford Bale but don't want to break the FFP laws.

Real Madrid could bomb a small country and they'd be 'playing by the rules' according to you.

liverpool somehow con west ham into giving them 15 mil for carroll, who in turns cons west ham into a six year deal.

6 year deal? jesus.

Plus £2m in performance related add ons, plus the £1m fee they paid to loan him last year according to Sullivan's son. Good luck to him, I've always been of the belief he could be a very effective footballer in a system built to his strengths. His agent has played a blinder negotiating that contract though. £100k/week for 6 years. Wow.

He'll turn into the decent prospect that he was before someone tied a £35m burden around his neck.

Just thinking - could the 6 year deal be because of FFP? Clubs will often pay fees as multiple installments over the duration of the players contract, presumably if its a 6 year deal it makes the annual installments smaller?

I heard the initial loan fee was 2 million. So 15.5 plus 2 million performance related plus the 2 million loan fee means we somehow recouped 19.5 of the 35. Amazing really.

Carroll's an interesting one, 15 mill is a lot to pay but we'll finally get to see if he can step up to a serviceable level. I personally don't think he will, but at the same time I've always felt he tried his hardest at level at Liverpool and may have been a bit unlucky.

What date does Thiago's £18M buyout kick in?

Available now I think until 1st of July...Something like that.

Or United the main team in for him who are crying out for a player like him.
