The light at the end of the tunnel for me, is that the injuries which have been a major cause to our downfall this year, have also kicked started a transition that needed to happen.

Cloke has had to play as our number 1 key foward. He may not have been as consistant or prolific but he has shown that he can preform even with the attention he has been getting.

Brown has strung together 17 games.

Harry O after a slowish start has stepped right up and been a real leader in defence and confirmed what many of us hoped for, that he would help fill the hole left by Jimmy.

Pendles has added strings to his bow, I actually think his been close to on par this year too last year, while others may disagree there is no doubt that his ability to play well when watched closely, and his intensity on the contest (whilst criticised by Sheean) has been much better this year.

Anthony has had a chance to string games together and get comfortable in the ones.

I look foward to (luck premitting.) Seeing one of Rus,Reid Dawes get a chance to string a fair chunk of the season as a third foward along side Rocca and Trav and getting a chance to get comfortable at AFL level.

agree there has been some good signs, thing there is you mentioned all kids. thats what we have been relying on to win us games , which is better than relying on our older guys i guess that are nearing 30 and the end of their careers.

one you may have missed is wellingham getting some gametime and showing he has got the tools to compete at the top level.

one thing im dissapointed in is we havent seen a stanley isles or cook try to cement a spot in the ones this year, i was hopeful one of these three could come along.

would love to see mccarthy or dawes debut by the end of year if they are ready.

Certainly did miss Shazza. Also Dawes showing building form at VFL level all good.

Also dissappointed about Stanley. I am hoping at some stage next year I can talk about how rapt I am at finally seeing him winning the ball out to Thomas who is finally being played in the midfield and dashing and hitting Ried/Dawes/Rus on the chest.

I think this season is a bit of a blessing in disguise. The positives I have seen so far are.

Didak, Thomas and Davis spending more time in the midfield. I beleive Didak and Thomas will be our 2 starting wingman next year.

Harry O'Brien - growing into a real leader of the club - pretty sure he well be in our leadership group of 5 next year. Plus his game will only get better.

John Anthony - Can't wait to see him in defence he will be in our best 22 next year.

Pendlebury - I still don't think Pendlebury realises how good he could be. The added attention he has been getting this year is a good learning experience. He is still only 20.

Brown - Growing with every game he plays. Would be good if we could snare his brother.

Clarke - Started slow but gee his last 5 - 6 weeks have been good. Will play a midfield role next year.

Wood - Still very raw but you can see the talent is there.

Wellingham - Shows class beyond his years.

Cloke - Is learning to play on the best defenders in the game.

Probably the only 3 disappointing things this year is the injuries to Rusling and Reid. I hope next year they both stay injury free and get full seasons out of them. The too should be in our best 22 next year.

The 1 really disappointing thing to come out of the year is Chris Egan. I had high hopes for him. He has all the talent in the world. He's Quick, Agile, good skills - but wasteful, good hight and good endurance but he just can't get his head right!!!!
