Is there any link of someone from the team mentioning that training was poor in the past week? Second time i've seen it mentioned now. I wouldn't count on it being turned around in one week, looks like every area of our game needs to be worked on.

at least it gives some hope as to if they train well this week we might be able to lift our intensity which I thought was our main problem (in the 1st quarter) which let them get a cozy lead and we were gone

I sure hope it is as simple as we just metally tuned out during the few days off the boys got before round 1, and they just didnt' come back switch on. Would account for the lack of intensity and lack of skill we had during the game. We made Banners look like a one touch player.

That's clearly a failing of the coaching staff. If they can't run a professional training session, then they should all give it away. This is schoolboy stuff!

As a past coach it can be very hard to motivate the group if they are flat at training. I imagine this would be moreso for a young group; it's amazing how the flat feeling can spread through a group.

It's the same at any workplace IMO. One person feeling flat can bring the whole office down. Like I've said on Facebook, it's not uncommon for everything to go wrong for the entire office on the one day.

It's a real bitch when it happens though. Nothing goes right and everyone just wants to go home.

Still say a good shrink on the boundary line, does wonders.
Jauncey used to walk and talk with any of the players who came off , in our glory years.
Did some great stuff with them.

Minson is seriously an incredibly underrated player - I suspect because he's had his best couple of years recently while the Dogs have been down.

Terrible effort on the weekend, just happy I didn't cop it too much from my mates as I was down in the dumps enough. Went to saw a family friend's side get pumped in the VFL before I came home to watch the game (did my knee so I couldn't justify trying to get into Etihad, sadly) and went from shocked to horribly disappointed. Crap day all round! But still, not throwing in the towel, I reckon we'll bounce back, just some players need to take a bloody hard look at themselves.

Add to that, we were outplayed by a developing team that hadn't won a game of footy in a bloody long time. This is a massive year for Vossy and if Melbourne weren't so pathetic on the weekend, I think he would be under the pump big time in the lead up to this week's game against Adelaide.

The game we played against the dogs was absolutely unacceptable for a team that wants to earn the respect of the footy world. If you look at our next 9 games, based on the performance of the weekend, it is a massive challenge that I really hope we are up for. You can only go off current form and you'd think we'd be lucky to win 3 of those next 9.

I, like every other Lions fan, would love to see Michael Voss succeed as a coach of Brisbane. As a supporter and member, I want to see results. Anything less than 10 wins is going backwards. Let's hope this turns around very quickly

We lost by 68 points to the Western Bulldogs. There was no effort and no fight. All pre-season we heard how the group is resilient and can tough out games....oh yeah?

Well, I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but I reckon it's more likely to be a false dawn, like that time in 2011 when we belted Adelaide at Footy Park.

They did their homework we didn't do ours - those involved should be stood down from the next Test

I thought so too. Whilst only small, the decision to start both Moloney and Rockliff on the bench smacked of arrogance...pretty sure it was the coaches that made that decision.

I completely agree with this. The only thing that has saved us from deeper analysis is our NAB Cup form and Melbourne (who we play in a month). This loss has been brushed off too lightly.
