Victorian police officers are examining video footage of the alleged bashing of 16-year-old party boy Corey Worthington amid claims the attack may have been staged.

Mobile phone footage of the alleged attack shows a young man chasing Corey and then appearing to hit and knee the teenager. In the background someone can be heard yelling: "Chris, give it to him!"

"There is an investigation into the incident involving a large number of youths at Fountain Gate," a police spokeswoman said.

"At this stage no one has been charged.

"Police were called to the scene so they had to investigate."

"There's been allegations in the media that the footage might be fake and police are investigating that, too."

She said that no one was injured in the fight.

"There were no injures, nothing was reported through to us," she said.

The alleged attack began at Max Pawsey Reserve, in Narre Warren, in Victoria's south-east, and ended up at the Westfield Fountain Gate Shopping centre, she said. The shopping centre, near Corey's home, was made famous as the hangout of Kath and Kim from the eponymous TV show

That explains why it was such a pisspoor fight. Corey would have got his ass kicked if it had of been in the western suburbs.
