I thought it would be interesting to rate the bottom two sides of the last few years as I believe Carlton and Essendon, this year, are as bad as any two sides in recent history (five years). Of course, this is partly speculative given there is one game left in 2006 for these teams to improve their record. Here are your options;
 Carlton (16th: 3 wins, 12 points, 73.13%) and St. Kilda (15th: 5 wins, 1 draw, 22 points, 78.60%)
 Western Bulldogs (16th: 3 wins, 1 draw, 14 points, 74.49%) and Carlton (15th, 4 wins, 16 points, 66.72%)
 Richmond (16th: 4 wins, 16 points, 69.24%) and Hawthorn (4 wins, 16 points, 70.23%)
 Carlton (16th: 4 wins, 1 draw, 18 points, 75.51%) and Collingwood (5 wins, 20 points, 77.69%)
 Carlton (16th: 3 wins, 1 draw, 14 points, 76.66%) and Essendon (15th: 3 wins, 1 draw, 14 points, 81.65%).
