I thought it would be interesting to rate the bottom two sides of the last few years as I believe Carlton and Essendon, this year, are as bad as any two sides in recent history (five years). Of course, this is partly speculative given there is one game left in 2006 for these teams to improve their record. Here are your options;

2002: Carlton (16th: 3 wins, 12 points, 73.13%) and St. Kilda (15th: 5 wins, 1 draw, 22 points, 78.60%)
2003: Western Bulldogs (16th: 3 wins, 1 draw, 14 points, 74.49%) and Carlton (15th, 4 wins, 16 points, 66.72%)
2004: Richmond (16th: 4 wins, 16 points, 69.24%) and Hawthorn (4 wins, 16 points, 70.23%)
2005: Carlton (16th: 4 wins, 1 draw, 18 points, 75.51%) and Collingwood (5 wins, 20 points, 77.69%)
2006: Carlton (16th: 3 wins, 1 draw, 14 points, 76.66%) and Essendon (15th: 3 wins, 1 draw, 14 points, 81.65%).

Hahaha @ Carlton finishing bottom 2 every year for the last 5 years, except 1.

Seriously how funny is that?:D

The salary cap penalties didn't help, but in the future, no one is going to remember that.

Not as Funny as Richmond have been in the last 25 years :D

I'll also take 16 premierships over 10.

Funny stuff. I recall we won more games than your rabble this year... so did Hawthorn.

So by virtue of that fact, your worse... much, much worse considering we had Frawley.

Wow you won half a game more that year then us this year and the session isn't even over yet. Essendon were alot more competitive then Hawthorn & Richmond back then.
