The bolded is pure supposition, surely you don't want to engage in that?

But you are completely correct in that your situation and the Ziggy report will benefit all clubs. The AFL is about to be dragged into the international-modern-professional era.

I'm not suggesting any other clubs crossed those boundaries, but it is pretty naive to think that Essendon were the only club with a supplements programme. It's not an arms race if only one party is involved. Geelong have been doing all kinds of far-out shit for years, injecting calf's blood, blood spinning etc, most of which are now banned. I mean Carlton went to extreme lengths to try and copy the programme in question.

Being a fan of the club counts for nothing. Look at Mark Robinson, supposedly a massive bombers supporter, yet he has enjoyed every moment he has dragged the club through the mud just to get his own jollies.

That's rubbish. He's doing his job, and doing it pretty well.

4Corners uncovered a record of a phone call from a third club (i.e. not MFC or EFC) to a chemist asking about human growth hormone. The club hasn't been publicly named but presumably the details have been passed on to ASADA. I don't think every club was getting into sophisticated supplement programs in a big way but I would be surprised if 4-5 others weren't doing something similar to Essendon, hopefully with more oversight though.

To those raising an issue with Ziggy, at first i didn't think he was the right person to conduct the report partly because i wasn't that impressed with him when he ran Telstra but having read though the first part of the report i am pleased with the job he has done.

I think David Evans has done a good job as have the players. The whole club will be a good case study for anyone studying how to manage a crisis.

Many clubs will benefit from this situation.

As he described it as an 'arms race'. We were not the only club pushing boundaries. Other clubs have now had a chance to tighten their procedures without the intense scrutiny applied to Essendon.

Agree 100% with this post.

I posted at the beginning of this saga as others did that this was not only an Essendon issue. And other clubs have been conspicious by their silence.

Funny story about Bruce Reid.

Went to training a few times in 2008/2010. Dr Reid paced up and down the boundary line, constantly being on the phone. I got the impression that Dr Reid is a busy man,so a full time gig, may not be realistic.

Full time doctors at AFL clubs, probably best suit older doctors who want to get away from a general practice.

The report basically lands a lot at Ian Robsons desk.

I think he will be the casualty out of this maybe the first of many.

But I am not opposed to the "learn from your mistakes" rather than get someone else in.

Best administrators, business people have made thousands of mistakes along the way, it's only in football that its so cut throat that you cannot make a mistake.

Now I know mistakes made at our club have lead to a huge potential consequence. But I believe Robson along with David Evans have done a terrific job with our club, on all areas outside of this issue.

I will be voting for Evans, and if Robson worked on a position we could vote for, I would vote for him too.

Solidarity is the strength of great clubs and organisations.

Clubs that make regular sackings usually sit down below.

Relax guys, tongue firmly in cheek go at you for engaging in the same game that opposition posters have been undertaking.
