As we all know this years draft is mighty thin in talent. Its been said that often it has to be true but id say for for a thin draft there a fair bit of talent out there.

Watching today's TAC cup I expect to see Ellis the kid most think will go one or two this year be the standout. he played well, show what would expect fo a rated kid. One commentator said he was simialr in his running to DelSanto or Power. He will be good but he wasnt the lone standout by any means. A couple of kids I saw goin round in the U18 Champs played ripper games.

Dale Thomas has real potential to set a game alight. He's a light weight kid but boy he looks good.Sort of a Matty Lappin/Aron Davey type, takes a nice grab, runs the lines and read the ball of the pack.Kicked 4 today and probably knocked himself into the top10

Nathan Jones, is a Paul Chapman clone. This man just doesnt know when to quit. Over 35 pos. today in a losing side. He just would not give up getting the ball for his side.

There were others that caught the eye and thats only two clubs in one state.

Lets not be fooled. There is gold in this here drafted. It might be a little bit better hidden but its there. In three years time somebody is going to be pretty happy they held on to their draft picks. I hope its us

Well, we have a strong case we could argue saying that we have the best recruiting dept. going around, considering our lack of really low picks, but our vast talent, so if anyone is gonna do it, we are a good chance.

No doubt there is plenty of genuine talent. It's just that you get the feeling that pick 10 isn't that much more of a sure thing than pick 40. Hence the relatively low worth of the best draft picks

Take our medicine. No silly trades. Sanderson and Rahilly retire. Delist 2 others (I vote for Slade and McCarthy) and take our 3 picks in this "weak" draft.
Agreed, but that is no reason to gloss over this draft and just pick up whoever.

Absolutely, wasn't suggesting that. I was trying to put it bluntly that let's just take our required three picks and not go silly with trades or delisting because we don't need to.
