I'm always amazed that more of them don't get fed up and walk away from the game.

I guess big bucks and peer-pressure go a long way.

Judd in his prime used to do some incredible things, amazing agility.
Took Dad along (he is a bomber) to see WC v Bombers at Etihad. Deadset like the Matrix some of the shit he used to do. Go in to the most congested area, come out the other side untouched. One of the best things I've seen, Judd in traffic when young with full fitness, agility and power.

Destroyed Brisbane one day and still one of his greatest games he played. He was untouchable that day against the reigning premiers with 5 goals in the first half.

That so many players are content turning into fatsos after their playing days after a life spent in peak physical shape is pretty amazing..

Players having to be told to go over the boundary line after an on the full kick before they can play on. So many are literally that stupid.

Nothing to do with stupidity though, just about trying to take advantage by any means available to them.

Just like with the pantomime routine when a player marks on an angle in front of goal, there's the odd occasion where you are afforded the benefit by pushing the boundaries.

In general the courage they show, as well as the general ability and vision in traffic and quick hands is impressive.

Specifically though the vision of players like Mitchell and Pendles who are able to make time when there is none, it just boggles my mind when I watch them.

Also Dustin Martin every time he breaks a tackle, especially with a don't argue. Saw a post the other day and someone showed he has had 75 odd broken tackles this year and next best is 25. Insane stat.

Jeremy McGovern's ability to read the ball in flight and mark it one grab

Jeremy McGovern's ability to be a top line AFL footballer and simultaneously a fat ****

Daniel Currie's ability to stay on a list
This. I didn't realise how out of shape he looks until I watched him closely on the weekend.
Superb footballer though.

Not much wrong with Adelaide cuh. Would rather live there than Melba
Lol.
Horsham would be more exciting than Adelaide

Players like the Crouch brothers, Kennedy from the Swans etc have this insane ability to flick out a clean handball in heavy congestion. I know this is a midfielders bread and butter but sometimes they get the ball out when they just shouldn't be able to.

The Crouch brothers playing in wet conditions is also something to behold.

Tbf Jarman was never really a physically gifted athlete. He was insanely skllful and an excellent reader of the ball and this was enough back in the 90's. These days you won't even make it past the combine unless you're at least an above average athlete.

When player's kicks are so powerful and random that they are referred to as 'chaos balls'. One can see the destruction unfold.

They do it deliberately in the NRL (hoping for a lucky bounce and get one of your team to swoop). I wonder if some AFL teams may actually start to practice this as a tactic.

This. The level of professionalism and dedication is massive.

People talk about the money, but most of them are on the minimum (recent CBA puts that at 100K + match payments) which may seem a lot, but when the job requires you to strictly play ball 24*7, that isn't all that much.

Their diet, exercise, sleep patterns, what they say, even how they socialise (and with who) are scrutinised and regulated. Not to mention the drugs regulators insisted they check in their location almost continually.

Some playing along with that, sure, but that almost nobody just chucks it in is impressive and somewhat surprising.
