Why would sunny downtown, Pyongyang be anyone's idea of a decent place to go on holiday to?So a person (American) has just been sentenced to 15 years hard labour in North Korea for attempting to steal a banner.
I for one do not support North Korea style laws being implemented where I live, but how could you not know what North Korea is going to be like in this regard given the warnings provided from your country's government and many other well known sources.

I like to beat off on the track... which might be why people have to get off it.I like off the beaten track, and despite rumours that dope is sold, and smoked openly on the street, I would draw the line at North Korea.

It's a whole thing. 'Thrill tourism'. Climbing Kilimanjaro, cruising down the Amazon or even cruising to Antarctica isn't that difficult anymore. Some people like to go off the beaten path despite the risks.
That place is a jokeSome dude released some really cool and illegal photos he had taken whilst in North Korea a few weeks ago.
FFS this stupid embedding thing.

A society completely devoted to worshipping a family that has essentially cut them off from the world? Be fascinating to see in personWhy would sunny downtown, Pyongyang be anyone's idea of a decent place to go on holiday to?
A few people now think that guy is just putting on an act and is a fake hostage who intends/wants to stay in North Korea, and is just doing this for publicity reasons. Have to admit when I first saw the photos in the news article I thought it looked a bit over dramatic. So a person (American) has just been sentenced to 15 years hard labour in North Korea for attempting to steal a banner.
