after 1 quarter it is evident that this is two teams from the bottom half of the ladder
cartlon seem to miss as many targets as us going into the fwd 50,keeping us in the game
umpires not helping us as usual

Ibbo and Palmer our two leading possession getters.

Free kicks 10 - 2 (to them). I would suggest that up to half of them have been umpire fabrications.

But yeah - an average game of footy, where they are beating us. :thumbsd:

Thornton
Macca
Duffield
Schammer

all very, very average footballers. :(

Can someone please tell me the last time Macca won a contested ball, or picked the ball up with one touch without either fumbling or over-running it??? Cos I am struggling to remember...

McPharlin doing a good job on fevola so far. :thumbsu:

Half time and Calton are keeping us in the game. Geez we have to start playing positive at the bounces etc, we're giving away certain wins with the tip offs.

i think Mc Pharlin (buddy) is playing well on the Fev - his only goal you have to admit was a freaky one.

Good to see Pav playing, Tarrant doing good, ibbo and Palmer playing positive as well, just got to string it together in the 2nd half and we will look a lot better.

Are you even watching the game IP? There were 4 players who got us back into that game. Shaun McManus, Byron Schammer, Antoni Grover and Chris Tarrant. Macca and Tequila won some great contests across half back and despite their 'reputations' for shonky delivery, they hit targets. Grover was just Grover. Whenever the ball is within 20m of him you just expect him to grab it and hurt a bloke wearing navy blue, god he's a good player. Tarrant is working very hard to make an option across half forward and getting his hands on it a fair bit.

Ok I like freo, not a fan but they are flat footed at th contest waiting for the ball to come to them...when the stoppgae occurs they need two guys (schammer and thornton are your quickest players)...to take off yep leave thier man and roll the dice....

carlton are simply rolling players away from the stoppage knowing the ball will come out....if freo get players running they will get the ball or worst case scenerio is they will man the loose calrton players

the umps...how biased are they....vis umps surely

calrton players cant get pinged for holding even if they throw it....

you should win just need to roll the dice at the stoppages

I also thought Macca was going OK.

Our stoppages have been like that for a few seasons Svenny. Commentators have made it their issue of the day as Sandi is cleaning up the taps.

still carlton keeping us in the game with thier negative ,floored brand of footy.whoever decides to stop attacking and hold the ball before half time deserves to lose
they are playing like we do on a bad day, dominant for most uf the quarter and only going in 1 goal up at half time, losers,
saying that it could go either way.
scott thorntons runs thriugh the guts are becoming a feature, although i can be one of his critics if he can give us drive up the corridor he will keep his spot

Wrote that earlier in the quarter. Scham was good - Macca I don't agree with you, sorry... but he did get better.

Grover, Tarrant, McPharlin and Ibbo best for us so far IMO.

Good to see Schammer & THornton starting to come good. Some great runs from Thornton and that pass of Byron's into Jonno was superb. Our backs, particularly Grover & Elvis kept us in that. We are lucky to be as close as we are and could easily win this.

We've certainly missed Grover the last couple of weeks - adds a bit of grunt to the backline and you know he won't take a backward step.

Macca, I dont' know, maybe I'm wearing my anti-Macca glasses, but gees, he gets in the way an awful lot.

I'd like to see our loose man in defence step up in the second half. We are getting killed across half-forward by Carlton's loose man, yet ours is nowhere to be found.

____ me I hate these ____ing umpires. Two ____-ups where pav should have got a kick and nothing.....

That said... lucky not to be pinged then... :o Nice work Pav / Solly. :thumbsu:
