Here we are in BigFooty world. You may be reading this hunched over your keyboard - mouse to the right, coffee to the left, flouro lights oppressively above.

You're probably reading this from work or home - if desperate enough maybe even from a phone on public transport or maybe some remote part of the world where no one around you knows what AFL footy is.

Here's something for you to respond to ... what does BigFooty mean to you? What do you like or hate about it? Are you here too often? Do your mates or partner give you crap for being on here too often or at inappropriate times?

For me, I'm usually logged on in the background while plugging away at work or home. I have been known to access it through my phone too, just before a game or to monitor some twits response to something I've mentioned about them. There's quite a wide range of boards & threads - you could really waste some time here :o:o:o

Best story wins.
 
My life was empty. Directionless. Then along came Big Footy.

I am on here far too often, but I never get bored. From the musings of hanging it on opposition supporters in Bay 13, to chewing the fat with my Sainter brothers.

My girlfriend said to me after the Collingwood game, I suppose you'll be on Big Footy tonight.

Damn right was my answer.

I love it here. I do amazing keyboard work for a blind asian man.
 
bigfooty is destroying my education and future livelyhood (in combination with a couple of other factors, but it's 90% BF). As we speak I have a complicated maths report due I faked a sicky today specifically to write up but instead I am on bloody bigfooty again.

I am seriously going to have to get myself banned before final exams come round or I don't think I'll even bother turning up, especially if what we all hope happens a month before hand happens.
 
Big Footy is a merry-go-round of footy supporters.

The top clubs get to strut around and troll the weaker clubs just that little bit more.

Nothing makes me sicker when they get on the tele and say "BIG NEWS, Geelong back on top!!"

Like getting a game first makes them better.

Yeah BF is a great forum for interacting with other Saints fans and footy fans in general, as well as a useful information resource. It's even better when your footy team is 8 zip and playing awesome footy.

Can be very easy to waste a lot of time here though. There's that many different forums and threads you could literally spend all day, every day here and still not get around to reading half the stuff on here. I mainly tend to use the Saints board and a few of the other footy boards, that's more than enough to keep me busy.
 
My friends mocked me for being too much of a footy nerd. I would always find a way to bring things back to AFL in some way, and for it, I was shunned. But here, my useless drones about St.Kilda are accepted, my bitching about the umpires isn't ridiculed, and I am not the biggest AFL nerd here. BigFooty takes me out of my humdrum life, and turns me into ZAINTA! He is accepted for his football-loving ways, while regular me was ridiculed. I am home!


By the way, some of this is true...sadly.
 
My friends would give me heaps of shit if they found out i have 2000+ posts on an interwebz forum. Especially a footy forum. Come to think of it so would my family.
My parents always ask me "oh what do you read on there? you're on it so much" oh yeah just stuff. footy stuff. 'do you ever talk to people?" ahhh nooo, 'sif i would.

Yeah but i hate it how BF is a merry go round, and so if you're bottom 4 that year or you have a shithouse history you opinion means jack. And if you have 87 premierships won before the stone age, you are credible and your opinion holds weight.
And the arrogance of some guys in some threads like they;re gods gift to women. :o:o

The goods, i learn stuff about people, that if i saw them in the street i would have nfi about. Its interesting to say the least. BigFooty is an escape. So good. I can just chat, care free about whatever i want in my shittiest outfits, with crappy hair. As i said, soo good. :thumbsu:
 
I have been around the Big Footy realms since 2007, the months i was 'away' i lost myself in my own mind.

I can talk about the Saints/Footy 24/7 all year round.

Most of my time on big footy is from the computer labs at uni, waiting for the nerd i am abusing in bay 13 to tap me on the shoulder.

I try and get to all saints games in Melbourne and love the fact i can get home and stick it up the others when we win or defend the crown when we lose.

I have a 3000 word essay due tomorrow, but what am i doing now? On Big Footy talking shit.
 
To put it frankly I like BigFooty simply because it's not every other amalgamation forum in which you're forced to defend the club you supporter every second of every day from the same arguments time and time again, so it's refreshing to just talk footy and talk about the club without the consistent "my genitals are bigger than yours x24" type remarks.

And I don't have a partner to be pissy with my time on here, yay me!:D
 
It's an amazing forum to kill heaps of time. Not only can you talk about footy, you can talk about other sports, politics, music, movies, general discussion and a stack of other stuff.

Then you get so many stupid people posting outrageous stuff (I.e Nexus) which gives you a big smile and a laugh. Such a massive forum thats only going to get bigger and bigger.
 
Been here so long (see join date) that I dont know what it means to me.

Dont post much anymore but fought the good fight for many years (where were you blokes during the Blight sacking and the turf wars with the Carlton lemmings from 2002 to present??? ;)).

Trench warfare was my modis opperandi - glad to see the younger recruits taking over.

Easily the worst supporter base on here.
