Ok after a somewhat sleepless night with butterflies flying around all night, i thought to myself this is why we love AFL.

Today is big; for some reason it feels bigger than the last two finals we played in, is it Collingwood, is it the G, is it the 90k fan expected or is it the anticipation of potentially carlton announcing their official arrival as a force for this year and beyond?

Most likely a combination of all of the above, what a day, nice weather, massive crowd and just maybe a famous carlton victory.

Well strap in and enjoy the ride today, it just may be the day.

Would love others to post what today means to them in the build up to this blockbuster.

Ok off to south bank and then to the Londern Tavern for the pre game build up.

Hell has officially frozen over.

Looking forward to this one. Still feel like it's R3, 2001 all over again. So many massive outs yet still in there with a chance. Have no idea what to expect today - a 10+ goal shellacking or a shocking completely upset win. I haven't felt this way going to the football for donkeys. Bloody ripper!!

I'm with friends from interstate today, mad Carlton supporter, never been to the G to see a Carlton v Collingwood...have a pre game lunch in Lygon Street and go watch the Blues win

Reckon we can today, Blues by under 2 goals, Mitch Robinson to star :diamond:

I'm very nervous too. Don't know why, this is the first game (besides round one) where i've really felt like this. I'm hitting the pub with a mad Collingwood supporter and his brother. Hope we can get up so i have something to piss him off

Would love others to post what today means to them in the build up to this blockbuster.

It's days like these that make me wish I never moved to Brisbane . I see status updates of my friends in Melbourne on the way to the game and I just want to be there in person. I fly down for it last year but the Blues put in an insipid effort and got thrashed by 100+, didn't want to spend $300 in flights for that to happen again (because of the outs we have) but I'll be kicking myself if we snatch a win.

I really don't think we'll get up today but I am nervous, excited, I'm wearing my jersey, scarf and beanie and you wont wipe the smile off my face unless we are losing.

I love this club and I love Melbourne. I want to come home!!!

Gonna take nothing less then a 4 quarter effort today, something we have struggled with...but you never know! I threw a tenner on us @ 5.50 yesterday after hearing the Shaw news, dunno why exactly, just think maybe the minds of a lot of Collingwood players will be elsewhere after what happened.

Here's hoping we're at least competitive.

Not cocky or overconfident by any means, just woke up with a great feeling.

Would love to get the win but i have doubts with Jamo and Waite missing.

Spewing i cant make it to the game today so will have to settle for T.V and the live coverage so it is not to bad i suppose.

Head tells me Pies by 40+

Heart tells me Blues by 24pts.


Cant wait for the game though and Cmon Blues this our time to stand up and i will be really interested to see how we go against the best team in the Comp second time around.
