I have followed him for years - he has not made it yet (recently started to play from behind too much), is an excellent young man whose character and work ethic should help him overcome his deficiencies and make the grade - was a gun TAC but this is a much bigger pond. For a Collingwood 6 footer was allowed to play FF too much, a difficult spot if you're only that height.

If he does want to come home he'd be a great forward target. Fevola, Fisher, Mckinley and a CHF (Hartlett hopefully) is pretty potent. Is he suited to playing pockets, FF or on the HF line?

This is what he has to learn - they are all hard posn's to get a kick and the one he plays the best is the one he is least suited/built for (FF). I was never a wiggy fan but the way he is playing right now makes it line ball between him and Ben

I honestly wouldn't waste my time with him if he was going to come for a price (I don't see WCE giving up Ben for cheap as he looks like a

player who can hold WCE forward line). We got Simon Wiggins firing and with big Setanta and Austin to come in, this will allow for Waite to go

to CHF, or even better Hartlett can overcome his injuries and slot in, so I honestly don't see any room for Ben McKinley. Thats my opinion

anyways. Lets focus on what we got.

But if we were to go for someone it definitely would have to be a big sized CHB or a big sized CHF ala Jonathan Brown size. We don't need

another mid sized 3rd forward.

Another player we could also add is probably another goal sneak to constantly be at Fev's feet (Front and Square) ala Cyril Rioli, Brett Ebert

(Port Adelaide), Aaron Davey.

He could well end up in the draft. Melbourne, Essendon (who would be very tempting to him), even Freo - would all be interested in a forward

Is he contemplating in leaving? Isn't he contracted?
Would have to ask my son how happy he is in Perth but his family was devastated when he got drafted interstate and he is coming out of contract.
This all pretty old news - I am having an early night g'nite all

Pass.

Lets develop and draft our own young talent.

Jake Edwards is younger, taller, a nice kick and has good hands, so lets develop him into our next forward ahead of trading for Mckinley. He's a good young player, but McKinley is a bit undersized at 184 cms tall and was dropped when Kennedy and Brown are injured.

Is he even that good that we should trade a second rounder for a marking forward who is the same height as Pfeiffer?

I'd be all for the Blues signing McKinley if he was a HFF who kicked goals, but he's similar to a player we already have on our list in Edwards IMO.

I absolutely agree with you TG. We have that much talent on our list that we can develop and put time into for example EDWARDS, HARTLETT etc, that we don't need to trade for no one. If PLAYERS want to come so be it, I wouldn't be begging for him (McKinley), PLAYERS SHOULD BE BEGGING TO COME TO CARLTON RATHER THAN US CHASING THEM :thumbsu::)

You seriously have to be joking to say it would be line ball between McKinley and Wiggins, Mckinley is still on the rise with scope for further improvement over the next one to two years, which whether he moves back to Victoria or stays in WA, he should become a 40-60 goal quality forward, Wiggins has been in the system for eight years and whilst he is a honest performer, l would suggest Mckinley will be a significantly better player or else why would you bother chasing him.

It is purely a matter of opinion but Hartlett has had almost four years at Carlton he is always injured, he has shown very little at senior level and it is very debatable if he will make it at this level, Edwards whilst he has some promise, l believe Mckinley will be a significantly better player than both of those two.

hed be a fantastic pickup

people on here are as one eyed as they come
mckinley would slot right into our starting 22, whilst also increasing that much heralded "competition for spots"

ive even seen people say we shouldnt get kerr because "he'd bring nothing to our midfield"

seriously people, i love our carlton boys, but pull your head out of the sand for a moment :)

You seemed to have trouble reading what I wrote
- right now Wiggy is playing better than Ben (dropped)
- 'will be' can only ever be a 'may be'
- who is chasing him?

You do know it is Ben's 3rd yr? But more to the point read The General again

Cannot agree that Jake is a nice kick - i think his kicking for goal is inconsistent to say the least. Otherwise, i agree with you we don't need McKinley, we need Hartlett to stay on the park.
