That's a good point. Last time we played North we were too small down back after we dropped Taylor, but that was at the Dome.

So would you keep Varcoe in to allow a Kelly to drop back and pick up a small forward?

We also lost Scarlett early on, so that didnt help. Don't forget.
Not sure about the third small forward. Damn Wojac. A kelly or Corey type can play on a HBF... Just worried if we play Taylor with Scarlett et al we will be to tall in the wet.

Selwood on the bench? Interesting. I can see him suffering from "general soreness" this week and being rested for a week before the finals.

Doesn't he start on the bench most games?

Wouldn't think we'd need to rest him - he's shown himself to be hard as nails. I'd say he'll just start on the bench and go from there.

Great ins but geez it's hard to pick who is gonna go out. We missed Harry against North last time but if it's wet and the wind is swirling, talls might not be as handy - which will make Campbell and Thomas an even more important proposition for us to match up on. Those blokes might well tear us up if we're not careful.

Doesn't look like Chapman is 100% otherwise they would have included him in the starting 18 with Milburn and Scarlett.

For Sunday:

In: Scarlett, Milburn
Out: Gamble, Varcoe

Maybe easing him back in, has spent a large amount of time out. In memory I think he is quite poor at recovery, therefore would really need to treat him with cotton wool.

I think he'll play, but only very limited time.

Could the plan possibly be by naming Chappy on the bench that North would expect him to pull out otherwise he would have been named as a starting 18. But in fact we do intend on playing him and catching North out by them assuming he wouldnt play?

I dont think we play thos type of games anymore...........I think its more of a case of Letting some players whom may be a bit suspect have untill the last min...to get up for the game.

Heard Neil Balme on SEN just before and a caller rang asking about a rumour he had heard about Carlton being interested in Chappy, Neil said that it was rubbish and that Chappy will be staying at Geelong and for anyone that thinks Chappy doesnt love the club they should just get out there on Sunday and see the way he plays (his passion).

Hopefully that was an indicator that Chappy will be playing this week:D

i think its well established that prismall is not in-and-under.
Da Forrsy definitely not.
With his kicking efficeny you dont want him in and under you - much like Ablett - you want him lurking to take the quick give. Not to say he doesnt go in when he has to so Prismall lovers wont get angry with me, because he does, just saying he is better receiving from Selwood or Jimmy than getting it himself. And delivering with accuracy. Thats his team role - I think but happy to be corrected. Except by armchair internet experts that is......

Thompson said Paul Chapman, Matthew Scarlett and Darren Milburn will return on Sunday, but said the final make-up of the side was yet to be finalised.
“We’ve got a few blokes still doubtful and we haven’t crunched our team yet,” he said.
“There a few blokes a bit sore from the weekend.”
The Cat coach rated Sunday’s game as ideal for his side to fine-tune its finals preparations against a hard-nosed team which, like the Cats, thrives on contested footy.
