in light of browns injury resurfacing can we assume he will be lucky to play 12-15 games, and possibly only half of those in mint condition? along with losing cogs, simmonds to miss this week (and possibly next week) and more than likely to not be fully fit till round 4-5 - realistically - what is the best way for us to approach this season - also considering wallaces 2009-11 "motivation" speech? i personally think we are going to find it incredibly hard to make finals. our depth is just not their.

I personally think this year we should go full barrell with the kids.i'm not suggesting "tanking" - but deledio, tambling, polo, pattison, moore, meyer, thursfield, howat, foley, hughes should all be playing between19-22 games (injuries permitting) and JON, reiwoldt, mcguane, white, king playing between 9-14 games. i have no interest being 9th again and not getting time into those kids - i think at the moment the direction of our team is very jaded, and unclear.

If you look at last year, we ended up 9th with a few close wins, but we also got smashed often, so the consistency is nowhere near at the level it needs to be. This year should be a consolidation on last year - as TW put it - a holding pattern. Reduce the number of thrashings & improve our winning margins on the games we win, while getting some more game time into our yougsters. 10-12th this year

I can see where you are coming from and I agree. Gasper, Hall, Tivendale Kingsley and perhaps Richo won't be around by 2011 when wallace predicts regular finals appearances. Also J.Bowden, Johnson, Brown will be in their Twilight years. We should be giving the kids as much time as we can and find out who is going to make it and who is not. I predict that we will finish 10-12.

all this 9th 10th 11th 12 th placing stuff will kill us in the long run! as we see the Carlton, Kangeroo and Hawthorn types develope better young squads than us.
