While I wouldn’t trade all those 3 in a fit, worrying about injury should hit the radar either. If he gets injured than that just bad luck. Didak has already had a reco and who knows what the future holds for anyone else. N If you thought like that you’d never recruit a quality player. You always have to pay a bit over the odds to get someone. We traded a premiership CHF, a promising youngster and a draft pick which got one of the Scotts to Brisbane for Buckley.

As much as having Judd at collingwood would be awesome, id prefer he stays at west coast. If he stays, he'll be on big money, which causes salary cap pressure, in turn pushing others out. Who do i want pushed out? Mitch Brown, entice him back over to the east to join his brother as bookends for collingwood, for the next 10 years.

Spine from 2009
M.Brown, Dawes, Heater, JA, N.Brown.
Can’t follow the logic there. Why would you pass up a proven match winning mid when we need exactly what Judd is in the hope that a potential KPP might be the one squeezed out by cap tightness from a club that needs KPP’s far more than mids? If Judd moves then I hope like hell we can match the offers and get him. Everything depends on price but for Judd (or Buckley) expensive is relative.

Judd fine, but not at the cost of dale or scott, they are already showing signs of being pure class acts, they are the future of this great club, Chris Judd is NOT, he is welcome to be part of it though. :D

if judd did come to collingwood, he would become the captain as soon as he lands in melbourne and we would build a team around him for the next 9 years, but i highly doubt he would come

Ridiculous. Thomas and Pendlebury have proved SFA. Yet they are future superstars. I don't think either of them will get anywhere near Judd's level. Pendlebury may eventually become as good as Dal Santo, and Thomas may get as good as say, Craig Bradley was. But they are not there yet, and might not get there. They have done nothing to show they are worth keeping ahead of players like Judd and Kerr, probably the two best mids in the comp. Whom are both still in their early 20's and still have improvement left themselves. But one thing I would say without hesitation, they will both be good players, but neither will be as good as those two already are. Lot's of homers here.

Well AFro Kerr wasn't exactly proving himself in his 2nd year of footy either. I also don't think Kerr is exactly "once in a generation". Simon Black, Akermanis, N.Lappin, Goodes, have had better careers than him let alone the likes of Buckley, Hird, Riccutio, West and Harvey, even Crawford has been better overall (in that I mean 5 years ago we would be calling Crawford a once-in-a blue moon player). Kerr is on fire at the moment and has had a couple of close-to Brownlow years, but even Francou was favorite in the b'low one year. Don't write off Thomas and Pendlebury, they could easily become elite midfielders. Noone was saying that Kerr would be a star in 2002. Judd on the other hand was a star by his 2nd year and is a once in a blue moon/generation player.

Of course off-field dilemmas aside you'd love to have Judd, and maybe Kerr but if you rip half of your core young players out for one of them, even Judd who is younger and better IMO than Kerr (not talking about current form) it may be good for us short term while the O'Brees, Licas, Buckley and the aging midfield are on their last legs, but when they are gone or have declined we are back to 1995-1999 I.e. a one man team, instead of Buckley it will be Judd.
